Jesus, @FluffyChix, what is your problem?

Are you an immediate post-op patient? No, you are not. You had your surgery more than six months ago, so you are not relevant to my point.

Did I say "150 pounds"? No, I did not. I said 165, because at 165 pounds or more, one needs 60+ grams of Protein, by these researchers' estimate. And the vast majority of immediate post-op patients weigh significantly more than 165 pounds.

You want to talk about basic skills? Try learning to read.

Also, maybe developing a modicum of chill. I was merely pointing out that the "you'll scare the immediate post-ops" is--I was nicer than this, but I'll be more real now--just concern trolling. You did not need to jump down my throat or insult my f---ing math skills

I believe perhaps you are forgetting to divide the weight in pounds by 2.2lbs/kg in order to get to weight expressed in kilograms. Don't worry, I forgot to do that all the time in 5th grade. :D

165lbs DIVIDED by 2.2lbs/kg = 165/2.2 = 75kg

75kg X 0.8g/kg = 60g of Protein recommended.

It would also be nice if Fluffy and MIZ would stop abusing the laughing smilie button. Yes, we all know now that they hate both creek's and my posts and therefore try to ridicule them. Please stop this infantile behavior.

WTAF? You just told me my math was right, by telling me my math was wrong? You are just spoiling for a fight, and I'm done feeding your troll ass.

Where did I say your math was right? Your math is wrong.

You forgot to divide by 2.2lbs/kg to express the weight in kg.

I don't mind people who disagree with something I've posted and say why they do. That's civil disagreement, and it's always welcome in my threads. And even encouraged. I love a good debate, particularly when people can provide some links to reputable research.

Adults can disagree without being backbiting and taking everything that's said in general....as if it were aimed at them personally. Which is isn't.

Adults should be able to walk away when they don't care for a topic or don't find it relevant.

Adults should be able to keep debating civilly, or lose interest and move on peacefully.

Last I checked, the only person with the right to patrol and control the content of the board...is the board's owner.

That whole....Live and let live thing? Some folks on this board need to work that.

This seems more like a pissing contest rather than a true regard for other peoples health. It wreaks of, "I know more than you". It's basically the equivalent of "I know you are but what am I" but with fancier vocabulary. Not to name names or anything.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
