Hi everyone! Happy new year! I had my gallbladder removed as our previous conversation in October. And it’s been ok since a then.

But suddenly sometimes I have pain again on the same place....right upper rib area. Is it normal to have this pain like a burning feeling?
Can it be like stones in the ducts? Or maybe slow digestion of a fatty food? At this point I’m imagining anything.

It’s been two months for my gallbladder removal and pancreatitis and suddenly the past week I’ve Been having this on and off pain not as strong as the first time but is getting me worried.

Any similar experiences?

That is exactly where I feel my jejunal ulcerations pain. I haven't had an gallbladder since February 1984,when I had this pain flare up, I was scared. I had spent the entire month of August on a liver-shrink diet, andcall I could think of was " I've damaged my liver" and since I am 1 part worrier and 1 part overactive imagination, my mind marched right into " I had bariatric surgery and I'm gonna die anyway? WTF happened to me?" But Dr Noria, my surgeon Dr Needleman's partner and the person who has done all my endoscopies there, said the right subcostal pain, that one that made me want to dig my fingers under my ribs and rip something out? Purely the ulcers in my jejunem romping and stomping, "keep the Carafate going on every six hours, and if we keep you on TPN so your beleagured GI system can rest but give you adequate Protein for healing, it's my professional plan that you'll be better soon" Hasn't happened yet, want it to--! but it seems to be taking forever! Then I remember there has only been 4 months since SURGERY and maybe I had better grow some "patience" flowers in my garden of Health. I have the rest of my life to enjoy my RnY, so this a " bump" in my journey, after all!

I'm also having this mystery pain exactly in the same place--right rib area, but deep in the abdomen. If I lay on my left side it shoots pain. If I walk it shoots pain. If I'm just sitting or laying down it's okay. If I breathe deeply it's super painful. I was sleeved 3.5 weeks ago, December 18th. This morning my GP referred me to the ER and they ran blood tests (but no scans) and everything came back normal. The ER doctor basically just said to wait for it to go away, or if it gets much worse and I run a fever, come back. Felt pretty unsatisfying and a little scary to not know at all what it is!

Could you still have gas under your diaphragm that hasn't worked out? And maybe it is re-enforcing stitches that will release. once you are farther along in healing? I seem to remember someone else who had similar and suddenly she felt a big Ping, and the pain went suddenly away and never returned. Last thing I can think of, a pinched nerve and once the internal sewll

I too have the same pain you describe bodycando. My Sleeve was on 12/19/18. I did great for 2 weeks then suddenly started having pain exactly as you describe plus radiating around the back. Doctor sent me for a CT scan with contrast to look at the stomach. Incision and everything looked fine. No leaks. From there an ultrasound which revealed small gallstones and my pancreatic enzymes were elevated. However the doctors doesn't think its either of those that is causing the pain. She is convinced its the surgical stiches inside and says she had to go pretty deep and did reinforcement. So, I'm continuing with daily Actigall and hoping it will get better with time. I had to go back to work and I'm trying to push through with continuing to walk 3 miles daily. My hope is she is right because another surgery at this point would not be a good thing. She did say that if it was the gallbladder that eating would make me nauseous or cause vomiting and with the pancreas you will get very sick with fever etc.... So since I'm having none of those symptoms I'm agreeing that it's the incision. I do notice that after walking the pain is more intense...I feel that's because I'm stretching the incision site. Hang in there. I think we just don't give ourselves enough time to heal and we push to get back to normal too quickly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
