Gastric sleeve friends a year out or more

How often do you see your surgeon since having your surgery? Is it suppose to be an ongoing thing or just as needed if you are a year out or more?

Thank you for answering my question. Oh my goodness your weight loss is amazing!! I had my surgery 09/12/18 and only lost 34lbs and have gained 11 back. I went yesterday and my doctor called me a failure and told me there was nothing else he could do for me and he didn't have to see me again.

I'm four years out.

My office provides check ups every three months for the first year, Yearly checkups for five years, Honestly, After my first year, I get my checkups and blood work done by my family physician.

Yikes! That's horrific.

1 week, 1 month, quarterly for the rest of the year, then annually.

I go to my regular doctor for blood and everything else as well. It just gets to me how horrible this man has been to me. I'm about to call the insurance company now. I pray they give me some good news.

I'm good with my family physician. Can you shop for another that you feel more comfortable with?

I checked in last year and need to go again in the next few months. I'm hoping to lose my very final 20 lbs before I actually make the appointment so my surgeon will refer me for all the plastics work I need. My family doc does all my bloodwork but I'm seriously proud to say that never in 4.5 years have I ever been deficient on anything other than low Iron about 1 year post op!!!

I'm 7.5 years out from my surgery. My surgeon died but because I had my surgery in Mexico I knew my followups would be done in the states by someone else. I had quarterly labs the first two years, then annually since, from my PCP.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
