tired - I’m 37!lbs. is it worth it if I’m feeling like the walking dead?

@smm86

sorry you are not feeling up to par, ☹️As OP have said - it should/will get better.

Everyone heals differently, feels better in different time periods, looses weight slower/faster

than each other. NEVER compare yourself to another person. Feel better soon!! (please!)

Kudos on your weight loss!! 37 lbs down!!

Good Luck

Kathy

I’m ab three weeks out and I’m having a hard time. I’m tired all the time, it’s hard to eat anything! I feel like most things sit in my tummy for hours ! I randomly woke up Sunday and couldn’t keep a thing down not even Water. Speaking of water... I’m SO THIRSTY!!! The small sips aren’t doing anything and after a few sips I’m feeling a “sick feeling”. Before surgery I drank a lot of sparkling Water which I know I can’t have. All I wanna do is use a straw and guzzle down some ice cold water but I can’t and I’m so frustrated! Regretting this at this point.. even though I’m 37!lbs. is it worth it if I’m feeling like the walking dead? Sorry for the rant I’ve just had it

Trust me when I tell you the initial discomfort will pass. The first Month Post op, I was beyond miserable but now I have more energy than I did when I was 18 Years old.

I feel ya girl. I am 10 weeks post op. I miss food. So much. I miss gorging myself. I am down 41lb since surgery (51lb since pre-op diet) and under 200lb, but still, I feel so empty. I definitely miss the days where I could be like, “I’ll start on Monday.” I miss McDonald’s. And I miss diet soda and seltzer. However, I now enjoy my iced tea. Btw I can gulp Water like do 3 gulps when parched so it does get better. I am always dehydrated though gotta work on that.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
