Mudgy6 88 Posted October 15, 2018 Hi everyone. It’s been a minute since I’ve posted. I had my procedure in 2016. I’ve lost a good amount of weight but now I’m starting to gain weight. I know I’ve been eating the wrong foods. My sweet tooth/junk food cravings are starting to take over. It’s like I try to stop the cravings but I keep eating. I also noticed that I have a lot of gas everyday all day long. Somebody talk to me before I lose this battle.
johnsons13 359 Posted October 15, 2018 I told my husband that quitting alcohol and drugs is much easier than eating right when all you know is unhealthy eating. I'm only 6 months post op, but I struggle daily, especially now my 8 year old is playing football. All those yummy horrible foods at the concession stand. I do good for 2-3 weeks, then I go on a week binge. I have lost 45 pounds but I know I should have almost lost to my goal weight. It can be discouraging. But you have all of us here on Bariatric pal. KimTriesRNY 1,853 Posted October 15, 2018 You should try writing down all of the things that made you really miserable about being obese that made you seek out or need weight loss surgery. Maybe carry it around with you if you have to for a little while and read it when you need to...in the grocery store, at the restaurant...wherever your having the food issues. I did start out at a higher weight than a lot of people, my BMI was 55, so there were a lot of things, and I mean ordinary things, that had become uncomfortable for me to do in my day to day life. That’s not even counting the health issues that were heading my way. Some regain is inevitable it seems but if you see weight creeping on and you know it is from bad habits finding their way back in, you owe it to yourself to fix it before it becomes a major problem. If it means seeking therapy or doing things like I suggested above then do what it takes to get back on track pronto.
