Congrats on getting your surgical date!
I think everyone gets a pre-op diet regardless. I don't have a fatty liver at all, but I still have 15 days of pre-op diet. I started mine 6 days early (yesterday, my surgery is on the 1st). I feel less pissy today than I did yesterday. I mean, it's only 8 am but..... lol! You can do it!

And I did the entire month of August, I did have NASH but I also wanted to give myself the very best chance for success. Lost 15 pounds then, have lost another 22.5 since my September 5th surgery. And if I can do it, most everybody can, I have a natural BMR of a sick sea slug, never could lose and keep off very long. And if you need a cheerleader on your struggle, I am available. See I did this all at the age of 72, be 73 the Day after Christmas. So nobody else can say they are TOO OLD, I prove them wrong.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
