I'm trying not to panic. I'm thinking of everything what I'm doing, is it right, wrong? What is going on? First couple of days weight is coming off just like before the surgery. Having hard time getting in all the 64oz. Water like before. Taking me an hour to get down the 8 oz. Protein Shake, on 3 shakes a day now. Tried moving on to the puree food and the only thing will keep down is creamy Soup. Tried smashing down, tuna, hard boiled egg. Nope came back up. I tried cottage cheese and ricotta it will stay down. Someone had said that maybe your intestine is inflamed from the cheese. So I stopped eating it and after 4 days went down one pound. So I'm not doing any dairy products now. I guess I have to wait till my next visit with doctor on the 17th. I just don't know, maybe my stomach is a slow healer and needs more time? I just want to move on to the meal plan schedule and not feel so full every time I drink one sip. Thanks for listening to me get it off my chest.

Maybe call your doctor and see what they recommend. I’m only a week post surgery but was told if only be on the liquid/puréed food for 2 weeks then the next stage is regular food. If it’s really bothering you a call to the doc office will ease your mind.

The not being able to tolerate solid food sounds kind of normal to me. The guidelines my doctor gave me said soft foods only (pureed meats, mashed vegetables, scrambled eggs, refried Beans, ricotta, cottage cheese, yogurt) until week 4. You're just barely past week 3. I'd stick to super soft/mushy stuff for a few days and see where you get.

I'm coming up on 8 weeks, and I still have discomfort if I eat something that's too big or not soft enough. Be gentle to yourself and don't rush. We're all relearning how to eat :)

I thought I was a patient man prior to having this surgery but for the first few weeks I felt like things were moving in slow motion. Put a phone call into your surgeon or NUT and let them know just to make sure but as frustrating as it can get just know if your following your program it's ok to take it slow and for things to take time to happen.

I tried scrambled egg soft chicken nope. Not staying down. I’m trying to be patient but not loosing any weight is throwing me for a loop.

So today went to the doctor and of course the scale moves. Just like brining your car in for service, everything is working fine. 😍

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
