So much insomnia

Recommended Posts

I'm just super cranky because I am extremely tired but can't sleep. I'm normally a stomach sleeper. So between not being able to sleep on my stomach, dealing with pain from my incisions and drain every time I move, and this heartburn I feel like I'm never going to go bed. I had found that I had been using my pain killers to help me sleep even when not in unbearable pain so I decided to flush the rest down the toilet. I'd rather suffer through any future pain (1 week post op so I'm thinking the worst of it is over?) than deal with possible addictions or problems that can stem from that habit. Any idea when this insomnia will go away? Work is going to be a killer if this is still going on by next week.

Going to second the Melatonin quick dissolves. Haven't tried the new Zquil naturals, but those appear to be a good choice as well.

Rescue Sleep has been a huge help to me over the years.

During the first few days post surgery I felt the heartburn and slept with 1. a small pillow to keep on my belly, 2. slept propped up mostly to help with the heartburn. 3. I was able to move slightly to sleep almost on my side / belly with the pillow as my protector, but also propped to help with the heartburn feeling. I also adjusted the times of my PPI to take when my heartburn was at its worst.

Right after surgery, many people sleep on recliners instead of their beds.

Thank you guys! I'll have to check out the Melatonin.
Ugh, wish I had a recliner! I've been laying on the couch lately.

Hiya! Is the rescue sleep safe to take post surgery?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
