Sweet spot....

Recommended Posts

I was banded 08/16/07. I have had four fills since. I am trying to determine if I have optimum restriction or not. I would like to hear from people who are at their "sweet spot". How much food do you eat? Do you feel satisfied after only a little food, but hungry less than 3 hours later? Do you feel "full" after food? I have been losing weight, but feel like I am depriving myself. I feel like I'm back on Weight Watchers! How can I identify if I am at optimum restriction? Thanks!

The sweet spot is the place where you can eat 1/3 of what you used to eat, be satisfied and feel full. Your "head" may tell you different (head hunger), but you need to listen to your body or you will slime/pb/get stuck.

It can take 3-6 fills or more sometimes. Some people get over filled, than need an unfill and start all over, so it is not good to push it.

It is best to just come to terms that it takes a while to get there.

I keep hearing about the sweet spot I can not wait until I reach that spot. I had my first fill 9/29 than my second 10/20. The problem is the one did nothing as far as I can tell. If I do not watch it I could eat anything, as much of it as I want. Is there something wrong with me. I plan to have my 3rd. fill 12/1 and hope this one will get me a little closer to that sweet spot. thanks for all the support.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
