Mind over food [emoji6] [emoji8] just think of how you'll feel after the surgery...like months after! You'll feel so much better losing the weight. That's what I'm looking forward to. I'm scared but we have the support of this group to get through it. I start my liquid diet in a few days, I'm already on a pretty strict regimen leading up to that. There isn't anything out there I really want at present time. It's always like that, you start eating better and your cravings change. Definitely looking forward to the post op period! 1 Jean9 reacted to this

kfaery215 14 Posted November 19, 2018 Sorry, 12/11!I began my journey in March, and I had two insurances at the time. I qualified for the secondary insurance to skip the 6 months diet weight period Because of existing comorbidities. I was approved with the second one and denied for the first one, and I lost my second insurance 6 days after I was approved and I could not schedule the surgery before I lost the insurance. So I had to go back to the beginning and do everything that was required for the first insurance. Then in June when I was ready to meet their requirements, the doctor's office submitted a new authorization request, and it was automatically denied because I was in some sort of 90-day appeal time frame. So we sent the appeal with the updated information, and they told us it could take up to 60 days for another decision, and it took almost 5 weeks and it received a second denial. We went back to square one because the 90 day was over and submitted a new authorization again. Then I was asked to give additional information, which was better than a denial. I had to get a new letter from my doctor that specifically stated the different diet programs that I have tried. I faxed it to the insurance and two days later I got the phone call that I was approved. It was really important for me to get approved and have the surgery in 2018 because of how this insurance can charge me up to 3000 dollars per year. At this point I can not be billed more than $800 because of the other medical processes that we had for our family. So getting in December was critical. I have my pre surgery appointment scheduled for the 27th where my best friend will meet me at the clinic and be there with me.Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app 3 Frustr8, Jacie63 and VSGDavid reacted to this

kx2ax5 33 Posted November 20, 2018 Just finished my pre-op education class and whoa... so much information. The only thing left for me before surgery December 14th is my pre-op diet that I start the 1st which is low carb high Protein, and then my pre-op appointment with the surgeon on December 6th. I’m going into this holiday season grateful for a new lease on life. ❤️ 6 kfaery215, SarahBoBera, Frustr8 and 3 others reacted to this
