Oct517 527 Posted October 5, 2018 Hi guys! I had my surgery two days ago and now I'm dealing with a stuffy nose and sore throat. I'm not sure if they're from the surgery itself or I have allergies. I'm having bad post nasal drip when i lay down and it feels like me entire stomach/chest is filled with mucus. Anyone else experience this? ReshapingRenae 11 Posted October 5, 2018 I did.. but I went into surgery with it. Are you on a PPI? I found that once I started taking mine it lessened quite a bit
Oct517 527 Posted October 5, 2018 Hmm. I called and they said I can take a allergy pill. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
Spellbound 48 Posted October 5, 2018 I had post-nasal drip. I believe it was a side effect from the anesthesia. I didn’t have it when I went in, but when I came out I did. Also the nasal tube of oxygen was such dry air that it gave me lots of nose gold. I got through it and didn’t even notice when it went away - probably after three or four days without allergy pills (I couldn’t take pills until day four... I was in the hospital for three days and two nights). I do have asthma and I also often have sinus blockage so I’ll bet it was all draining due to the cold temperatures and oxygen tube. You're not crazy and some random one off.

It's scary feeling like I cant breathe normally after surgery. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
jgirlnyc 3 Posted October 6, 2018 I felt the same as if I had allergies. I think it’s a combo of the anesthesia and the tube they place down your esophagus. It’s a terrible feeling. My nose was so stuffy that after blowing it I had a nosebleed. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Oct517 527 Posted October 6, 2018 Yeah, it's a really horrible feeling. I have so much phlegm caught in my chest but everytime I cough it feels like my insides are falling out Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
