2Bsmaller18 436 Posted October 4, 2018 I am just beginning this process. I met with a surgeon and looked into insurance coverage. The insurance company wants me to be under a "physician supervised" weight loss program for 90 days. The surgeon suggested to go to my primary care physician. I have an appointment set up but I am thinking based on previous visits over the years that she will not be supportive of me looking into surgery (BMI is 36 now). I am anticipating that she will just say to diet and exercise as I have done in the past. I want to get the 90 days set up ASAP. Any suggestions for where to go? 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Ed_NW 684 Posted October 4, 2018 Have your doctor refer you to a nutritionist. That's your best bet. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
DaleCruse 756 Posted October 4, 2018 Why are you so convinced you're going to get turned down? Tell your doctor your concern. If you have a history with this doctor, that person will know you've tried other weight-loss approaches already. Respectfully push back if the doctor starts to say no. Good luck. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
