Can you elaborate, struggling how?
How much are you currently consuming?

I had surgery on 8/20 and I keep a 20oz cup with me for my 30 min drive to work. I save to drink to/from work.

I keep a 20oz cup at work which I fill twice and drink within 8 hrs. This does not include my Decaf coffee or teas.

I also drink another 20-40 oz after work at home

Is it an issue with remembering? Is it painful to consume? Does it make you nauseous? What specifically is holding you back from consuming what you are supposed to?

No it doesn’t make me nauseous is just trying to just drink it
It requires a conscious effort for you to drink your fluids. Staying hydrated will not happen on it's own.
There are bariatric apps that can remind you to drink Water, water drinking apps to remind you.

The effort comes from you, if you do not have a medical reason for not getting your fluids, then you need to make a conscious one

I wonder if you might be grazing with your food. Only allow 20 min to eat your meal. Your snack if necessary shouldn’t be less than 2 hrs. Allow 30 min after your meal to start on your fluids and sip sip. Remember your shake counts as Fluid and milk as well. If you wait 4 hrs between meals (no longer) you can work on the fluids. Good luck 🤗🤗

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
