Hey, does anybody want to share their non-food rewards? I hit 60 lbs down today and I'm going to take a long lunch break from work and go see Night School. I've also just scheduled a massage and facial. Whee!

Anybody else? I'd love to build a list of non-food rewards that we can turn to when we deserve a treat but cheesecake is NOT it!

xo

At 90 lbs down I treated myself to a new fall coat and 3 new pairs of shoes. :)

If I can lose 4 more pounds before the 10th - One big reward for reaching Onederland - a spa day while on vacation - I can hear the masseuse calling my name. :)

My first official goal would be reached in 7 lbs - not realistic to think that can / will happen in a week... that would 40lbs lost since day before pre-op - reward - Extended weekend away with the BF.

I have a charm Bracelet (in the Pandora style, but it isn't Pandora-branded) that I'm adding a charm to, every time I lose 10 pounds.

Love this idea!! Congrats!

I have bought many clothing rewards. It is hard not to if you’ve been shopping in plus sizes for years and years!

I have also bought two new bags and a new watch.

I have a vacation planned in March, and that should be pretty close to me at or beyond my goal.

It is so important to reward yourself with non food items, whatever it is you love instead....you deserve it!

Because I shall have to be spending money on clothes later, I try to find rewards that don't cost too much, like a weekend camping, or ten pin bowling or crazy golf.

Clothes! Clothes! Clothes!

Besides necessity, there are a few reasons it is fun:

1. I am no longer limited to plus sizes. Exploring stores and having more options is amazing, whole new world of possibilities. 🤩

2. My body has a better shape so it is actually possible to look good in clothes. I don't feel like a blob anymore 😊

3. If done right, shopping is decent exercise. Lots of walking. Bring a water bottle and get to work! 😉

Side note: I do love pedicures, but have actually gone less since losing weight bc it is also kinda exciting how easily I can reach my toes! No more huffing and puffing!

I plan to buy myself a fishing kayak when I reach goal weight (60-65kg). I had looked at them a few years ago but came to the conclusion that I was really too heavy to be able to safely and comfortably use the most stable/suitable fishing kayaks available. We just spent a weekend camping with some families from my kids school and several brought some small kids and larger tandem kayaks and my son and husband loved them :) I'll have to get a wetsuit to go with it (something I also wasn't keen to do at size 24/26).

I will also be getting myself some new fishing waders as I'm already swimming in my old ones, plus my feet are shrinking a bit and my old ones were sized to include my orthotics I used to need.

I already did a massive clothes shopping trip a few weeks ago, out of necessity, as I"m now a size 16 and my old size 22-26 spring/summer clothing wasn't going to work at all. I stuck with very affordable stuff from k-mart/best and less though, as I'd likely be needing stuff in smaller sizes again in another 3-4 months (though I can start borrowing stuff from my sister and mum soon too)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
