Nigella 0 Posted November 10, 2007 Hi everyone I am very new to posting so please bare with me. I have a question for anyone willing to answer. How did you know that the band was the way to go for you? I just had my initial meeting with the nurse to start the process and I feel like every day if not evey hour I am changing my mind :faint:. I am just curious if anyone else felt a struggle with deciding to go this route. My family is very supportive so that does not seem to be the problem, they are happy whatever I decide, I am just having a hard time deciding if this is what I should do. I would appreciate anyones input on this. Thanks
nip50 2 Posted November 10, 2007 Nigella-I was banded 4 1/2 weeks ago and I must say that before the surgery I never had any second thoughts on it. It was something that I had wanted for so long, but had to wait until the money was available (I was a self-pay). But I must say that right after I had the surgery (within minutes of waking up) I started to freak out a little and asked myself what have I done? I shocked myself, I had been so sure before the surgery. Fortunately that feeling didn't last long and I'm as sure as can be that it was the best thing I've ever done. The first week was a little rough (but I also had 2 hernias repaired at the same time) and since then have been feeling great. So far I haven't personally spoken with anyone who has regreted having this done. Good luck to you.
bigcountry 0 Posted November 10, 2007 I feel the same way to Nigella. I've never been sick so I don't even have a family doctor. Seriously, I had perfect attendance all through school. I keep feeling like why am I going to cut my body open and ask for problems when I have never even had to go to the doctor for a cold. I'm so scared there will be complicatons forcing me to make doctor visits that I don't even do now.
