December 2018 Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

Congratulations and best wishes for your upcoming surgery from one of the oldest chronologically but younger than Springtime in my ❤. Was Bypassed 11 weeks ago today, my recovery not stellar, my road bumpy⚠ with temporary 🚧pitfalls, but would NEVER go back to my BEFORE and my days now are future 🌞sunlight, starlight sparkles🌟 and 🌈rainbows. Even Gloomy days⛅⚡☔ cannot last forever!

Hi Folks,

I am scheduled for 12/5/2018 surgery date. My surgery and program are through Kaiser in Northern California, at the Richmond Medical Center.

In the midst of all of this, I am applying to PhD programs and searching for jobs. I'm thrilled for the next part of this journey.

SW: 308 / CW: 282.6 / GW: ???

I forgot to mention that my procedure is the gastric sleeve.

Hi all!

I'm very new here. I'm a younger guy in his twenties going through the first year of law school and am getting sleeved on December 17!

Welcome! I'm going through school to be a Rad Tech, but thankfully my surgery falls into a time frame where I have about a month to heal before I go back to school. How about you?

I started my pre-op diet on Tuesday. Its not a full liquid diet, I get to eat food with mine as well as three shakes a day. Its very carefully controlled on what I can eat and how much, 2 very specific frozen meals a day and small amounts of "approved" vegetables with two of my shakes. I'm very thankful for this as I think a pure liquid diet I would be going insane right about now.

11 days until surgery though, all of my pre-op stuff done, blood-work and nicotine test already came back and I am good to go.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
