Hello everyone!
I was approved a few days ago (after only waiting a week) and received my surgery date for December 12, 2018! I chose this date out of the few offered to me because I am currently in college and I will be able to finish up my classes prior to the surgery (which was a huge worry of mine.) It's about two weeks before my birthday too!
Anyone else scheduled out in December?
I'm scheduled for December 28th. I too am a college student. I'm 35 years old and have decided to leave my former career of retail management to become a registered dental hygienist. I had to schedule my surgery right after Christmas because I have classes all the way through the 20th.
I just started my extended pre-op diet, my current weight is 248 and theyd like me to at least reach 235 before surgery.

I currently work in logistics and I've decided that I want a career in radiology, more specifically a radiological technician. The way that my class is set up (online) I can take my final exam a couple days before my surgery, so I have about a month to recover before I start the Spring semester.

I believe I will have a pre-op diet about two weeks prior to surgery, but nothing up until then. What is your extended pre-op diet like?

Radiology technician sounds very interesting. I'm so excited for your surgery and your new career!

I attached a copy of a sample daily menu for me right now. [emoji6] 20181102_094946.jpeg

December 3rd, 2018!! So excited. I had a lapband 10 years ago and lost over 100lbs. Sadly it slipped severely, HAD to be removed 2+ years ago. I’m back to 300 lbs now and so ready for my sleeve!!!

Myhorseisfattoo-

My bestie is going thru Hershey Medical Center. Is that the same as PS Health? My mom has her bypass at HMC in 1987/88 era. Still doing wonderfully! Should have listened to her first go-around and just had the bypass. Doc said 10 years ago that I didn’t qualify for bypass.

Best of luck and keep in touch!!

My date is December 4th! It is approaching fast and I am so busy with “life” I haven’t had time to even think about it fully yet. I have two appointments Wednesday. One with the office and Pre-Op @ the hospital.

Chappy - you'll have to be the reporter back to us who are later in the month! My total excitement now includes a little fear, which I didn't have before!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
