Altho I would hardly call 1400 calories a "binge"...mainly because I average 1200 per day and still lose nicely...the question of head hunger is a tough one...I agree with laurend...a big help is to not let that first sign of hunger go by unadressed. When I let myself get too hungry, it's not a good thing...I eat too much, too fast, get pain, pb, and it's just an ugly ordeal. Then, sometimes I have a while before my lunch break, yet get hungry...I feel guilty if I eat before "the appointed time", but now I've given myself permission to address my hunger and eat something small and nutritious at the first sign. Then I'm less likely to binge on junk food.< /p>

If I've really got the munchies, a craving for something, I go with it. Sometimes, trying to hold out just means you end up eating even more as you eat 40 things other than what it was you wanted in the first place.

Most times, I get peckish and suffer head hunger in the afternoon, I try to time my runs for then. A good long run, particularly on a day like today where its 37 degress celcius in melbourne, kills my appetite.

But running does more than that, it burns lots of energy which means that I can eat 1400 calories a day and lose weight and eat 1800 and maintain. So I dont get that much head hunger because I can eat quite a lot of food, 3 meals, 2 Snacks. And I dont need to be very tight to keep my appetite low enough to keep me under 1000 calories, so I can eat most foods which means I dont do without much.

Things like chocolate, I get cravings for and sometimes you just have to ride it out. Other times I feel I can afford to indulge it like I said above.

Probably good luck to a large degree, I seem to have been able to lose on much higher calories than many others that exercise as much as I do.

My too bits,

I tend to crave sweets at night, I think because I'll off work and kinda bored. So, I started working out at night instead of the morning and I brush my teeth after eating. These things help me.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
