I'm going on vacation and my cardio partner who lives in that country just texted to inform me "I am clearing that entire week". Woo!

But that is over two months away and I am just going to get flat-out mean if I don't get this dating thing spun up. What's the best dating app everyone's using? I'm thinking of trying coffee Meets Bagel. The "I'm looking for a serious relationship" apps terrify me and I don't want those, and I also can't believe there's not an actual co-branded "Netflix and Chill" app, which is pretty much what I'm looking for.

Now you don't have to play a role for someone else, freeing isn't it? You can be yourself and know in your heart it is just where you really should be.
Now you are on to something!!!! The don’t date list

I was on that, sooo many fake profiles. I found it to be a total waste of time, ditto on Elite singles.

As far as hook up apps, no personal experience, but from what I hear, Tinder, Bumble, and the like are the best options. OKC & POF are good for hook ups, but the quality of the men on there, ugh, I'm not interested in d*ck pics during our first text convo.

But my geography is completely different than yours, so YMMV

BTW, I've had the most success on Match, a "serious relationship app", but most guys are looking for, or would be fine with Netflix & Chill, IME

I'm still young enough to want a full on relationship, so I'm not giving up yet!!!

No kidding!

So much negativity on this thread!

No one is advocating dating to find a bad partner, one that makes you unhappy or makes you play a role, etc..

I am happy single, but I would be happier in a healthy relationship.

I've given up. Now I get the occasional woman who will like my profile. I then message her and she ignores me. I don't have the social skills necessary to meet people in real life. I've tried Match, eHarmony and OKCupid. Combined I've sent hundreds of messages. Sticking with eHarmony since they have canned questions to send. Don't feel like putting the effort in. On OKCupid, I was messaged by a professional dominatrix. I was tempted.

I've realized I have no photos for dating apps, which is awkward - a combo of having conditioned people never to take my photo and also any photos they HAVE taken of me are old and now look nothing like me. So have to get on that.

In the meantime I'm going to drag a coworker out to a bar tomorrow afternoon, get a read on that scene.

Anyone remember the scene from the movies Gattaca where Thurman covertly tests Hawke's DNA for diseases, me mental illness, compatibility, etc and decided to pursue him based on the results... I'm gonna need that technology to appear soon

His story is too tragic and nuanced to disclose but it's tricky to say the least.

He is soooooooooooooooo into me and i can't lie, I like him too. So im treading very lightly and staying friends for now.

Hey, I just got an email from a place called silversingles which is a dating site for those over 50. Unless George Clooney or Sam Elliott are on there I don't think I would be interested but maybe someone else on here is.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
