This is awful, i just feel sad and not like myself its weird.

I am on constant fear and worry this past week or so. Its not good and i am not sure what to do. I have always been afraid of taking meds for anxiety because i dont want to become dependent on them but it is getting bad. I have always had health anxiety and i knew it would be a struggle after surgery, but id hoped id be ok. :(

I am always concerned something is wrong with me and this reflux has me terrified i get stuck in these swirling thoughts and its consuming me. I was very nervous about reflux pre op and now i feel like my fears are coming true and its triggering me. It has been better with meds but i cant stop stressing about it.

Many hugs, I know I can't stop you from stressing about everything but I really wanted to start by pointing out your strength... you see it is not easy to say hey I am not feeling right or even put it into words our fears or anxiousness... you are already doing good job, you are recognizing you don't feel right and you sound like you are taking the steps to figure it out, so I will say that is true strength and you will probably do great, maybe your dr. will be able to recommend treatments without meds if that is what will work for you.

I will also say it is hard to know for sure everything is ok in this process right... we had a surgery that was big and that is having an immediate effect, we know it happened but can't see it in a lot of ways so healing a cut you can see it getting better for the most part with this we can't see our pouches or stomachs as they heal, and it is easy when we have reflux or we throw up or have a pain or stitch to think the worst. I really get it, when I was having issues with #2... I had read a horrible case scenario and was convinced it was going to happen to me too... (obs. my anxiety at the time was higher before med adjustment for me). even though it is hard you are talking about it, and going to a dr. and having a discussion is really a great idea, I think you will find a lot of people on these boards also have similar feelings as you.

You can also bring all of this up to your surgeon as well, about the reflux concerns and see if an endoscopy is warranted to make sure there isn't anything else going on.

Hi Everyone- I hope everyone is doing well adjusting to our new ways of living, I am officially 70lbs down... without weighing myself so far this week... I have realized sometimes how when I look at myself I think I am the same as always... my husband was laughing the other day because I said something like I wonder if I will fit... we booked a trip to a famous mouses house and I was talking about a ride... anyways he looked at me and was like for real... and I was. That was when he told me that I should do a comparison... you can see that below... yes I am not wearing makeup lol but the difference in just a few months blew me away... I mean I feel the difference energy wise, I know I have been following my plan... just harder to see the big change when you see yourself everyday I guess. So I encourage everyone to do the same to Celebrate the hard work we have been doing! On that note how is everyone doing can you believe we are coming up on 3 months? I have learned I want a healthy relationship with food, it takes only a few moments to food prep or make great choices. I do think I have fallen in love with cooking and baking again. I like and take comfort in making and prepping my own food to know I am ok. I see changes in my family as I am cooking better choices as well. I am struggling a little with meeting my Proteins everyday... just falling short of 60 grams... trying to find better ways to boost through food items... any suggestions are welcomed. I also realize I am still not showing any signs of feeling hungry but do see that when I haven't eaten in awhile my energy will plummet significantly... so I try to eat something small every three hours.

You look great!!! Congrats on your progress!! I am going to that Mouse's house next week (for the first time EVER, I might add) and I cannot tell you how thrilled I am not to have that dread of "will I fit" hanging over my head! Or the "Am I gonna be in a middle seat on the flight?"And, I'm actually EXCITED about all the steps I'm going to get in too! Life is already so much more enjoyable.

I have scheduled to meet with a counselor and I will definitely be asking about the reflux cause it has me stressed.
It definitely isn't easy and the mental health side of this is by far the hardest. I was so nervous for the surgery it's self and that was the easy part.
I just don't want reflux to become a major issue.
I'm trying to stay positive and I really hope talking with someone will help. My husband seems frustrated with me which is making me really sad.
I don't like feeling like this but I can't help it. Idk how to fix it.
Ugh the endoscopy was so expensive I hope I don't need another one. But we will see.

Thanks, and I am so jealous you are going so soon!!! I literally can not wait.... you are going to have a great time... magic extra if you stop at the barber shop on main street they can put pixie dust on you for free... additional note that dust can be found a year later I swear it doesn't come off lol! I hope you have an excellent time, I am actually thinking out taking photos and sharing my food options along the way lol... I love me some Disney and tend to go there more than I should lol it is addicting so if you have any questions let me know... but have the best time and enjoy all the moments.

i am doing a bit better, i was able to meet with a therapist and had my 3 month post op appointment yesterday. They didn't seem concerned with the reflux and advised i continue to take my meds a few more months and we would evaluate at my 6 month appointment and try to ween off if i was doing ok. I haven't had any heartburn since ive been on them but when i go to sleep i often feel like i want to burp stuff up :(

I have a dull pain in my abdomen sometimes that has me kind of concerned but they didn't seem worried about that either...

So fingers crossed it all gets better :(

it is good to hear you are doing a bit better! and the reflux meds working is great, and I think reevaluating at 6 months is a great option. it is also good that you asked them about the pain, and good they seem to think it is normal, if it will help you write about it daily in your notes where you keep track on food intake pain today felt like and then you will have a reference for it to either show the dr or it won't be something you feel you have to write about any longer.

The burps... hands down one bite extra and I feel the same way for like an hour.... so ugh lol... I did this this weekend, had some chili it was sooo good, it was so cold out and this was just everything, got to about 3 3.5 ounces in (had portioned out 4 ounces) and I just didn't want it to end... I challenged an extra bite and my body quickly let me know not a good idea. I spent the next hour wishing I had listened to my body. The burping and discomfort not worth it.

I hope this week is better than last week! EVEN WHEN IT IS HARD KNOW YOU HAVE GOT THIS!!

Hi Everyone-

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing? I know the FB page is finally a closed group so it is cool to see people writing on there. I have a 1.5 lb regain? Healing? Bloating? Something that happened about a week and half ago, have since lost it and fingers crossed broke a two week stall with a two pound loss. I never broke from the program, but I do think I am supposed to be increasing something at the three month mark, calories to ratio burned? I am doing more so maybe that? Or calories overall? I am not super worried and have my 3 month meeting on Wednesday so I am looking forward to talking to them about it all!

What are people struggling with these days in food intake? For me I am always struggling to get the full Protein in at the end of the day when I get to I seem to hover at 57- 59 grams of protein but just no way I can fit anymore in, my carb ratio has been great, I tap out at about 800- 900 calories a day, the closer I am to 900 I feel like I have had to much... like fuller feeling on that day like open a button full feeling? Anyone else?

In other news I bought a swim suit... like legit thought it was going to be too small... a size 16 (previous swimsuit size 24) and it fit already. I am leaving for vacay in a month and it already fit... I was so excited!!!I had also bought a few capris in a size large and they also already fit a little snug but by the time I go I think will be perfect! I just am so excited.

It really is an amazing journey!

Does anyone else feel like it's gotten harder to eat than it was in the beginning?
I feel like I push so hard to get my calories and Water and am full all day.
My dietitian wants to see me at 1000 calories and that is very hard for me to hit most days!
I feel like I was more hungry and could eat more in the beginning. Maybe it's just a phase. 🤷. Very weird I always thought it would just steadily get easier but that doesn't seem like the case.

Yeah reflux is weird and very frustrating. I definitely get that feeling of I eat too much but it also happens to me at night or early in the morning when I haven't even eaten anything. So I'm not sure. Last night I didn't have it though so here's to hoping it will get better 🤞
Yeah idk if the pain is normal it worries me sometimes but it's full and if it gets any worse I'll have it checked out. But of course I worry about everything.
Thank you for keeping in touch I am sad this page isn't as active I definitely like to see how everyone is doing and ask questions makes me feel not so alone!

You got sleeved over a month after me and I just started hitting 1000 calories. It was through adding bariatric Snacks I bought on here and Amazon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
