November 28th for me! I look forward to all those things and flying without worrying the buckle will fit!

Hi and welcome! Yes, the dreaded airplane seat! Also some movie theater seats and booths at restaurants-I can't wait to not have to eat with my stomach lodged between the seat and table!:)

Sunday reflection :
I cannot wait to be a healthier version of myself.
I cannot wait to have more energy.
I cannot wait to walk into a room and not tug on my clothes constantly.
I cannot wait to have options for clothes shopping
I cannot wait to not look at a chair and wonder if it will buckle under my weight.
I cannot wait to get on a plane and not immediately start sweating in fear that the buckle won’t close.
I cannot wait to be proud of my progress.
I cannot wait to be free of this weight that is literally holding me down.

I’ve been working through the process of having this surgery since February- and I cannot wait to get this done !

Happy Sunday 😊

Love this :91_thumbsup:

Hi Everyone.... this Saturday marked the official 30 days out for surgery! I did my final goodbyes to anything junk related? I have continued to increase my walks and lowered my caffeine intake (just a little lol) so now per nutrition I am low carbs and lean protein... I am try to do the timing of what food should look like.... next week I am going to add in shakes for two meals to get ready for the liquid preop prep... how is everyone else... what are your goals for this week?

I too have lowered my caffeine intake a little but won't completely give it up until my pre-op diet. My goals for this week are to focus on chewing my food and not drinking with meals.

Hi guys,

I'm having my sleeve 6th November. I live in Australia. Nurse and single mum to 2 kiddies. I am most looking forward to being able to buy average sized clothes in normal shops and not being grossed out by the reflection in the changeroom mirror!

I'm going on a cruise next week and will start the pre-op diet the day we get home. Looking forward to going on this journey with you all :)

Hello and welcome! We are date twins:) I too am looking forward to buying clothes that aren't from the plus-size section. Have great time on your cruise!

I am also having the surgery on the 21st. Am looking forward to not over eating for the first time in 20+ years.😀

Congrats!! We can be Thanksgiving buddies! I'm looking forward to being able to fit into the skinnier clothes I bought the LAST time I lost a bunch of weight. I bought a whole new wardrobe and I just couldn't maintain it. At least I kept my bigger clothes as a backup. My husband donated all of his, then he gained it all back and had to go buy more stuff.

I just learned today that I will be sleeved on November 7th. This is something that I have silently considered and prayed about for more than a decade. Then I had two different doctors (within the same week) suggest I look into gastric sleeve. That was September 24/25 of this year. Everything has been going so smoothly and I have complete peace about the surgery and confidence in my surgeon. God has cleared the path swiftly and I am so excited for what's in store next. I immediately eliminated my one cup of caffeine each day and am thankful that it went smoothly. I anticipate the most challenging part is going to be not to drink Water while I eat and to eat slow enough. I anticipate that to be the absolute hardest part for me. My life is so busy and I do everything in a hurry....this surgery and lifestyle change will definitely impact more areas than just diet and exercise for me. This will truly force me to slow down and I'm excited about that...just hoping I don't make myself sick while I learn what it's like to not be on fast pace.

And I will be 🙏praying for you that your plans are underwritten By GOD himself. I believe you would not have progressed this far without His Help. I had my RNY September 5th after 3 years and 3 weeks of seeking. And I am thankful to my surgeon, my Hospital, Ohio State University in Columbus 48 miles from where I live, but most of all GOD who loves and sustains me on my daily path. And I want yours to be all you wish and more! your new friend Frustr8😛

Welcome and congrats on getting a date-I will be sleeved on the 6th. I too feel that I am meant to have this surgery and whenever I had any doubts I would trust that whatever was meant to happen would happen and here I am 4 weeks away from the big day:)

I've got a little bit longer than the rest of you since I'm right by Thanksgiving, but I already ordered the sample pack of Syntrax Nectar flavors so I can try them out and see what ones I like the best before my liquid diet, because it's too pricey to get big tubs of each of them! I've already tried some of the Premier Protein and that's a good one, too. Trying to get ready ahead of time so it won't but such a shock. My final pre-op meeting isn't until Nov 9, but my surgery was already approved! Now I'm just waiting on FMLA paperwork to come back in for work.

My preop meeting is on the same date. I am scheduled for November 26th. They sent in my preauthorization last week. I just recieved confirmation today from the insurance company I am approved. SO I am so glad its been something Ive toyed with for years and Now it the time. I have totally had enough of this crap. I do like th Premier Protein clear drinks. I havent tried the shakes yet, have you?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
