Seafood help???????????????

Recommended Posts

I am just starting to eat solids again. We are going out to a seafood place tomorrow for my dad's birthday. I do not care for fish. Is there any other seafood that you have found that you can eat easily??:P

I love fish, but for the times when taking leftovers home is not an option, I usually order a crab cake appetizer and ask that it be brought as my meal. YUM.

I love ALL seafood (okay, calamari and fried oysters are pretty low on my list, but I never met a shrimp I didn't like!) and I live near the gulf, so we eat a LOT of seafood.

Pretty much ALL of it tends to get 'stuck' if I don't REALLY eat it slow. Chew, chew, chew, but then wait a long time between bites. Not sure why -- but it just seems more likely to 'clog up' at the bandsite than beef, pork or chicken does.

But eventually it all goes down. Just take your time.

Crab legs are a good but expensive choice. The meat is usually tender unless they are over cooked. I dip mine in lemon juice instead of the butter plus the extra time it takes to get the meat out is a good waiting period. It is also less fishy if you don't like fish. I love shrimp but have a hard time eating it cause most places over cook it till it is tough.

There is always clam chowder! Manhatten style if they got it since it doesn't have the white cream sauce.:hungry:

Depends on where you live. Sea scallops are my favorite bandster protien. I also like crabcakes, crab imperial, and chowders. I can do shrimp, but have to be done right.

I am not a huge seafood fan, but I do love any white fish. Scrod, cod, tilapia etc. It doesn't have a "fishy" taste and it's easy going down. Good luck!

I have a lot of trouble with fish. I dont like it much anyway. Too bad that Doug loves fishing, but he brings home so much crappy flathead which I hate, and he cant fillet or skin it well, ugh. I throw it out, buy fish at the fishmongers and then tell him its the fish he caught, lol.

Fish sticks for me, the texture is just disagreeable to me, I block very easily on it. The only fish I absolutely LOVE is salmon and tuna, and I will make the effort for a salmon or tuna fillet but that's about it. I do eat canned tuna often, but fish is not a huge part of my diet which it probably should be as its so good for you.

I have done the cup of chowder and a crabcake for a meal. Its hard to eat it all, but the Protein amount is way up there. Plus, its like you are eating a regular meal with your family. YUUUMMMMM

I've never had a problem with crab, It pretty much just shreds up & dissolves. Chowder or other Soup (normally places will have 2 - 3 choices). I've had trouble with crab cakes - more the non-crab stuff in them. There may also be non-seafood alternatives, e.g. the pickiest seafood restaurants around here will still have something chicken or steak on the menu.

I didn't have problem with shrimp initiallly, but I seem to have a problem with them now.

I don't like fish..

But I love crab, and crab legs & crab cakes go down fine for me.

My first 'solid' meal was the crab cake appetizer from Ruby Tuesday's.. mmm. I stll get that everytime we go there, sometimes with the salad bar depending on how hungry I am.

We went to a cajun resturant for dinner on Saturday and I had the crabcakes. They bring 2 HUGE cakes. Naturally, I picked at the first one (after appetizers). So I just reheated the 2nd - went down NO problem. As long as it's not 'bready'...it's easy.

I work in a seafood restaurant and there are several foods I can eat. Mostly any type of white fish is easy... I eat bay shrimp cocktails, Ahi tuna, Balckened Snapper, Salmon, Crab, Swordfish, calamari, etc... All of these are easy to chew. The items that are harder to chew are mussels, clams, prawns, lobster, clam chowder, oysters, etc...

Good Luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
