Probably bc it's really bread I miss. Gotta find healthier substitutes when the time comes.

Fiberone sells 80 calorie wraps that are quite tasty, I also eat the super high grain count bread on occasion.

Thank you for this!!! I'm in my 3rd week also introducing soft foods and I have stalled for 5 days! I thought something was wrong with me. Seeing everyone's replies is very encouraging. :-) I even thought about going back to the dreaded liquid diet. I'll give it more time. Again for this!

Mine still hasn't picked up. My doctor says that's normal and to just keep doing the diet. I'm gonna start going to the gym today and try to have faith and patience. Good luck to you and please let me know when yours has picked up again.

Mine took 2 weeks for it to pick up again. I lose about 1-3lbs a week now but I can definitely tell inches are melting away. I really think it's our bodies catching up ;-)

So, before I had the surgery I was told my weight loss would be slower than others do to multiple medical issues causing hormonal issues including a benign brain tumor. My question is I'm only 3 weeks post OP and it seems to have come to a halt. In fact I gained three lbs. I have been following the plan as prescribed. I just introduced salmon, shrimp and eggs. Has anyone else felt with this issue so early on ? Any advice?

My first stall happened week three as well. It lasted for three whole weeks. I was so frustrated. But then like magic I dropped another 10lbs. Now I’m in another stall.

As far as weight gain it might just be Water retention. Especially if you sticking to the program. We don’t eat enough for real weight gain.

Thanks.... I'm so paranoid and have become a slave to the scale. Just found my tape measure and am going to get my measurements to monitor. I have been freaking out the last few days about the scale. Wish I could go to the gym but still feeling a pull and some pain. I have been walking daily. Guess, I need to learn to relax some.
Prkitty I just passed my 3 weeks post op GB and experiencing the same things. A stall, some discomfort and pain on my left side and near navel area where the most surgical treatment happened. I want to start on light weights for my arms and squats but have been to afraid!

How much do you walk per day?

That’s totally normal also remember you are not drinking as much Water as your body is used too and fluctuating 3-5 pounds is normal. Now when it stays a while and is creeping up be concerned. There is no way you can gain weight with only eating 500 calories. One thing I learned being a year and a half post op is I worried wayyyyyy too much. I worried about my hair, not losing fast enough, gaining weight when a year later my hair is almost back to its former glory, I’m still working on my last 20 pounds but I am sooo much healthier and happier than I used to be! Your body is adjusting to starvation conditions, just give it time! Keep sipping water, get Protein and do a little walking and everything will be perfect! Congrats on your surgery and new life!

I’m actually on my second stall. I’m down 50lbs in three months so I knew this would happen. Still bummed but working through it

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
