Just curious, sometimes when I'm not hungry and I'm focusing on drinking my Water, I'll take a drink and then it's like when it hits my stomach, it triggers hunger (or something). Am I crazy? Does anyone else ever have this sensation when they drink water? What is that? I try to tell myself that it is NOT hunger, but my brain says otherwise. Why would I even have head hunger (or real hunger) from drinking water.

Same. I'm only 6 weeks post-op gastric bypass so I definitely don't have a lot of answers. But often when I drink I suddenly feel hungry. Whenever I eat I definitely feel thirsty. I'm working hard to meet my Water goals (100 oz) and when I do I rarely feel hungry at all. My best guess is that a lot of the times that I felt hungry before I was actually thirsty. I think my brain has the signals mixed-up so I just focus on that water and eat when I should.

I have that every once in a while and then I realized I was truly hungry because I haven’t eaten in a while. It’s uaually when I am busy and don’t have access to food ASAP. I am never without Water though so I consistently drink water. Maybe try to have a bite of something, Protein related when you get those feelings and see if it gets better

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
