Hello All,

I am checking in to see how everyone is doing. I was sleeved from a band on February 26th, 2018. I am so thrilled with the results. I went through what most people described here as 3 month stalls, 5 month stalls, 6 month stalls, Than I start loosing again. I have to say this tool is now really starting to be powerful. A lot of my old habits are slipping away, especially my compulsiveness with food. Would love to hear about good bad and the ugly.

Anyone out there with a lap band still in and struggling with throwing up on a regular basis and minimal weight loss, talk to your Dr. I found a new practice and it was done in one surgery. I regret going on as long as I did with my lap band not working, and so afraid that I would fail again like so many times before. I can honestly say, I am not failing at gastric sleeve bariatric surgery. This is what I had hoped my sleeve would do.

anyone out there considering a revision and needs to ask questions please ask.

Dawn Marie

Dawn, good to see you! Your progress is awesome! Congrats!

Like you, my 7-month surgiversary is tomorrow. I am down 90 lbs. and just yesterday, weighed the exact same as my husband!!! That has never-ever-never happened in our 29-year marriage. In a few days, I may be the lightest person in my house! I would have been happy with this at 1 year; I'd never have imagined that it could happen this quickly.

Hi, my surgery to remove my band and perform the sleeve was Feb 20. I have lost 46 lbs and is happy with the results so far. I like the slow weight loss because the skin is recovering nicely (no saggy skin). I am almost out of the 200s and can`t wait to get into the 100s. I have had no issues with the sleeve.

Hi - I just had my 8 month surgiversary for the sleeve. I also had a band - from 2011 to 2015. The tubing broke twice and saline was just leaking into my abdomen! I’ve lost 58 lbs which I am thrilled about, but I realize it is way slower than with people who have not had the band. I wonder if there are any statistics out there about getting sleeved 1) after having the band 2) at an older age (I’m 57) and 3) at a lower starting weight (232). I think because of any one of these things, or a combination thereof, the weight loss is slower. Any thoughts? Statistics? I’d love to know if anyone has read anything about these issues.

Sleeved on the last day of Feb 2018, and hit 70 pounds lost! I know there are people out there who lost more in the same period of time but I am honestly super happy about my progress. I've been wasting a shitload of money though in buying new sizes of clothes because they look terrible on when they're one size too big, except for certain items of clothing.

My surgery was 2/09/18. I feel like I am doing well. Super happy with the weight I have lost so far. Its on my ticker. I have gone from a size 20 to a size 11. Skin is a problem for me. I have currently been stalled for over a month so I have upped my workout routine.

I guess I'm in the lower wieght category as well I went in at 238, I list 40lbs and I'm good with that. It was at slower but I started maintenance at 6 months.

Hello there O & D so happy to hear about your progress. Most likely by now you are the lightest person in the house. I am lighter than my oldest son and that really cracked him up.

I am not losing this month. my body must be leveling out. I find I lose a pound or two than take it back. Let me know if you experienced any of this. I also got a new scale and have to say its very high tech measuring my Water , bones and muscle and bmi and telling me how many calories to eat for how many weeks to achieve weight loss. LOL

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Newbie Girl I am writing to say hello, what told you you are starting maintenance. Was it a feeling or slower weight loss? I think that band to sleeve is said to be slower, but I think that we can defy that and lose as much weight as we want. I think being in wonderland is an amazing thing. Myself I am wanting to get to my first goal of 154 so 100 pounds. Not sure if it will happen, I want to just stay the course and see where it goes. I am so comfortable at this weight or size I should say. Being a size 12 is comfortable.

That"s awesome, I have had no problems with the sleeve either. I do not for one minute miss that band. No Regrets in life but I would encourage anyone with a band to revise asap. Its a much better journey.

Hi Silly Kitty Checking back. that's great weight loss 90 lbs. I am starting to level out at 80 pounds. Or could just be a super stall. Which is what I hope. Let me know if you had a super stall during the 7th month, and if not what are you doing now.

Hello, I am also super happy with the weight I have lost so far. Skin is starting to bug me a bit as well. I am in a stall but would be happy if this is maintenance. My goal weight is 154 so I hope its just a stall. Let me know how the stall progresses.

Hi Polymorphing,

I am super happy to hear about all our weight loss, Money on new clothes does suck but its so fun trying on sizes that are not plus size.

I have been in a weird stall this whole month, loosing and gaining the same 1 pound over and over again. I am not sure if this is maintenance or just me not trying as hard with my Protein and Water.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
