To answer the last person's statements....black entertainment television shows and award shows were created because grammys and oscars at one point were racist and black entertainers were rarely awarded for their talent and tv shows were created because diverse shows were few and rare. Even today....most major movies have white people starring in them, but I will say lately that has been changing and things are more diverse. Also, black people use the n word to make fun of other black people they know...when a white person says it they don't know if you are playing or being racist which is why its best for them not to use it at all...I'm black and I don't use the word but I understand why some use it and why some people should never say it

I never use the N word. I think it is mostly because it would be very out of character for me. It's just not in my vocabulary. I would sound like a real dork. You know, just like someone in their 60's trying to talk like a teen. If other people use it, I guess that's their business. I don't hear the word often.

I do not like nor do I ever use the "N" word. I have a biracial child and her dad says it all the time...I would always get on him as well. I don't care what color you are, the word is horrible. I can't believe that people think that its okay to say. I better not EVER hear my daughter use it or she will be missing some teeth.

OH. MY. GOD.

What the hell is wrong with everyone? It is a word. Banning ANY words is absolutely against everything that I believe. In fact, putting bans on words seems to give them power. Let it go, y'all...let it go...

If you don't like the word, then don't use it.

Come on, really? Go ask your questions somewhere else. This is NOT the place for this kind of rhetoric. GO AWAY!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
