Day 1

Recommended Posts

So today was my first day on phase 3. I ate my first meal shredded turkey deli meat and reduced fat cheeses total 2 oz. Well I was able to eat 1 oz. I had a meeting at my daughter's school and while walking up to the door it felt like the food was stuck . I chewed forever waited 3 min in between bites. And 15 min later there I was vomiting in the office trash can. I felt much better, then 30 min late I was running to the restroom vomiting again. I don't want anything else to eat. I'm done.

I'm so sorry!

Was this the first day for both the turkey and cheese?
Something similar happened to me my first day with scrambled eggs, a little shredded cheese and guacamole. I ate 2 bites (small) in total and got sick.

Since then I've had eggs and cheese separately and together no issues. Haven't dared to try the guacamole again yet.

Anyway, where I'm going with this, it's said not to introduce "new" foods simultaneously. Choose 1 new item today and 1 tomorrow. Wait a few days or weeks and try again.

Wishing you luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
