Measurable weight fluctuates all of the time most people's progress looks like spikes & stairs instead of a straight line down, scales don't always reflect the work you put in, try looking at other indicators for your progress also like measurements and how clothing/shoes fit.

Unless you are deviating from your plan, you will see it happen eventually. Try to be patient, as hard as it is...

Water, your cycle, the heat...these can all create fluctuations in weight. Don’t worry

I never loose weight during my cycle. The week after I drop 3/4 lbs. Fluid retention is my guess.

I am one month post op and have been at a stall for the last two weeks. The last couple of days I notice I’m actually gaining weight. It’s so frustrating because I’m following the plan, haven’t even thought about having something I’m not suppose to. The only thing I’ve been bad at is getting in 64+ oz of liquids. I’m usually closer to 50. I’m going to try getting in more to see if that makes a difference. But rest assure you’re not alone!

I had the lapband before and that was a total failure. I know it hasn't been that long, im not even completely healed. I won't worry yet.

The scale is evil. I constantly go up in weight the week before my cycle. It is horrible to step on the scale and weight 4-5 pounds more. Then, my body eventually adjusts back to normal. This happens so it is good to also take measurements and photos.

What the heck?! Surgery was 8/22, I lost 10lbs right away but now I've gained 3 back. I feel like I'm already failing. Has anyone had a similar experience?

some tips, only weigh yourself 1st thing in the morning after using the bathroom and with minimal clothing. Limit weighing yourself to once a week if possible. Many have said it fluctuates and that's so true. Many things happen from the time you wake till the time you sleep and your weight can bounce around just during the course of a day. Keep up good habits and you'll be good!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
