Metgirl256 15 Posted September 23, 2018 Although I work for a larger not for profit, your medical records are private and between you and the insurance company. My doctor also had non- Bariatric stationary for my note with something like Advanced Laprascopic Surgery on it so for all anyone know you had an appendectomy or gall bladder removed. Btw, I had my surgery on a Monday and aside from being tired coil have gone to work by Thursday. 1 JessLess reacted to this

My concern was that the guy that owns my company would ask ME why he should give me the time off, not that the doctor or insurance would inform him. And if it's that difficult, I should be looking for a new place to work anyway.
H2neal 40 Posted September 23, 2018 @iattcom I also have to work on CEUs for the up coming tax season. So this week or two off will give me time to get mine done as well. I cannot believe surgery is this Wednesday. I started this journey in November I think. I had to start with my 6 months of dr visits and then do the ekg labs psych nut stool sample. But now the end is def in sight. I have tried a few Protein Shakes but I find I like the premier the best. The strawberry to be exact. I am on day 12 of my all liquid diet. The first few days was not hard. I got hungry about 4th day but that’s because all of us managers had to go to a luncheon and I was like stuck. I did eat a piece of grilled chicken. But still stuck to the all liquids after and it didn’t seem to hurt me. And I have already started a stool softener at my pre op support group leaders request. I have only told a hand full of people as well. I don’t want all the negative comments. This decision is hard enough with those. Some people just don’t understand how it feels to be the biggest person in the room or to worry about fitting in a tiny booth at a restaurant or squeezing behind people in conference rooms for meetings and etc. but we all have got this!! Soon we will be on the other side!!
Deborah HAYS 4 Posted September 23, 2018 I start my liquid diet at noon today. I have to bathe with a certain kind of soap. I don’t rinse for one minute. Dry off with a HAND TOWEL!! Put on Clean pj’s. The sheet have to be clean. I put on a patch behind my ear. This is getting ahead of the nausea. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight. In the morning I take the same kind of shower before I go to the hospital. I take Emend (anti nauseating) pill. Not to scare anyone but this 1 pill was $110. Thank goodness I reached my deductible and out of pocket. I have to be at the hospital at 10:30 and surgery @ 12:30.
H2neal 40 Posted September 23, 2018 Good luck tomorrow! I do my pre op registration Monday and they will be giving me a body wash to use the night before and morning of. Then I have to arrive at 6am. I am the second case but he wants me to be there at 6 in case the first one decides not to show. Keep us updated!
LynnV1964 134 Posted September 23, 2018 I started my 2 day liquid diet today too. Not sure if my time on Tuesday but they’ll call tomorrow. I got that anti nausea pill too. Fortunately my insurance covered all but $20 of it!
Metgirl256 15 Posted September 23, 2018 So what would happen if you, heaven forbid, had a heart attack? I am also at “ at will” employee as is my entire company and most places I have worked. I would say that you need some time of for a medically necessary surgery and leave it at that. Talk to your new HR person. Often at start ups the boss is ignorant of all the intricacies of employee relations and Your HR person may be better equipped to advise him/ her. Also the HR is not able to disclose any personal information you share. My HR office knows I was out for surgery but has no idea what it was. There is something wrong if you can’t take a week or two off for medical and live in fear of your losing job, even at a start up! 2 gbjourney6 and JessLess reacted to this
