Do you have a World Market near you? Ours usually has a great selection of the syrups.

No, I have Whole food, and several indie coops I shop at (plus Walmart and a few other regional grocery chains) they all have some variation on spiced Syrup but none are sugar free, sigh. I may buy online 😓

The Fall is my favorite season! I love pumpkins. We already have 2 out on the porch. I love pumpkin flavor but not so much pumpkin spice.

The other day I took this picture. It just screams Fall to me.

Fall related: I was already layering clothing in the summer because I was cold... How will I survive the chill?

I may invest in flannel...

Complaint:

I can't seem to find pumpkin spice sugar free syrups, they know how popular the flavor is, why isn't available sugar free?

Suggestion:

I think I'll dabble with making my own 😓

Fear: extended family asking tons of questions at Thanksgiving since they don’t know about surgery and I’ve lost 100lbs ish since last thanksgiving.

Solution: Work Thanksgiving and don’t go home 😂

#hospitalsneverclose so I get to work and avoid my fears. And in the Winter version of this thread where I get off work for Christmas, I’ll be coming up with a big girl solution 😂

Complaint:

Fall equals cooler weather, and I'm anticipating a big adjustment period. I've been suffering from severe cold intolerance when the temps drop into the low 70's... therefore, when fall officially hits in IL, I'll be struggling. Usually by the end of Oct we are getting hit with 40 degree days.

Suggestion:

I'm going to layer up and enjoy wearing jeans, sweaters, and boots.

Looking forward to:

Cooking and hosting holidays. I love to feed my family and decorate my house.

That's me everyday, even prior to WLS, my office heater is on nearly 360 days a year and I'm never warm enough. Although, I have noticed I'm a bit chillier now than I was pre surgery. UGH....

Girl yes. I think I'll be needing one of those. That and an electric throw blanket that plugs into the cigarette lighter in my car.

I never, never, never had this problem prior to WLS. In fact, I never even wore a winter coat, unless it got into the teens outside. And my heater has also been running all summer. I get extremely irritable if I have to leave my office.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
