How long until pain after every bite goes away?

Recommended Posts

Hi All-

I have been cleared to start 3A of my post-op diet. Essentially its shakes, SF Jello and now cottage cheese and refried Beans. I seem to have pain after every bite. It only lasts about 3-5 seconds, but it is as the food hits the stomach. How long has this sensation lasted for some of the veterans? It's not fun, but I am grateful to have at least some food.

Any feedback/insights are appreciated!

Wow, they really sped you through the diet didn't they? Most sleeved folks are on liquids for like a month!

Really? Yep, this stage is 10 days, then 3B I can add scrambled eggs.< br />
Maybe I should go back to just the shakes. The pain is pretty uncomfortable.

I just reread the instructions and I can also have Tofu and ricotta. I wonder if those will be more mild.

If it's hurting, and shakes don't then I'd suggest going back to them, you might not be fully healed, you might have a stricture, there could be a few causes for pain... but if shakes don't hurt, I'd do that until you can get advice from your surgical team.
