Yessican 42 Posted September 13, 2018 Hey Guys, So I had my first appointment with my surgeon on Monday it went great, they set me up with all my appointments and told me if everything went well i would have my surgery by ending of October beginning November. I was super excited UNTIL today. I went to my doctors office to get some more referrals i needed and asked him for the Medically Necessity letter and he said NO. He needed to observe me for an addition 6 months. I can't believe not even my insurance is asking for that much time. Does anyone have any advice, please help. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Wanda247 908 Posted September 13, 2018 Find a new doctor who will support your weight loss surgery, my doctor was very happy for me when I told her I wanted to have WLS as she should be because she knows how hard I was struggling with trying to lose weight on my own and all of my medical issues. You pay him not the other way around...just my opinion because I’m a no nonsense person, I have no problem changing if they are not supporting me...the insurance company has enough requirements, you don’t need more on top of that. maybe others here have some better suggestions. I wish you the best! 3 GreenTealael, Jingle123423 and Screwballski reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,430 Posted September 13, 2018 Ask the surgeons office to refer you to a new primary doctor they work with for just this sort of thing, believe me they have them. 2 Screwballski and Wanda247 reacted to this
jultrim18 132 Posted September 13, 2018 I agree. Ask your surgeon. They work with doctors that advocate for the surgery. Best of luck! 2 Screwballski and GreenTealael reacted to this
