Tyreebme 0 Posted September 12, 2018 First time posting in here. I had my Revision from band to sleeve on 8/28. So far I have had constant pain in my joints since then. I had swelling in my hand do to a bad iv during surgery. Which also caused chest pains that I had to get hospitalized because they weren’t sure if I had PE’s. Or pneumonia. Which I had neither. They have since subsided some. Now I am having swelling in my knees. Very painful. And it feels like all this pain is making it worse to do the things I need to do help get better from the surgery. And of course, I can’t take any anti inflammatories. I’ve used ice, heat, and elevation. Any other ideas that anyone has would greatly help. I wanna get moving. domi 237 Posted September 12, 2018 Keep drinking your Water and take walks. Even if they are back and forth to the restroom. I was swollen after surgery and my joints hurt. I used liquid Tylenol if it was really bad and iced my knees. The walking and drinking fluids helped the most. Just start moving and keep increasing each day. Your joints will feel much better as you lose weight, mine do.
John Kitsu 34 Posted September 13, 2018 Sorry to hear that. I actually had my surgery the same day as you! I had some pains in my foot about 10 days out of surgery, but I've been diagnosed with gout, so I was able to take meds to relieve the pain within a day. Apparently flareups are normal. It may be worth getting a referral to a rheumatologist if things get worse.
