sodoe 0 Posted September 12, 2018 Hi all! I am nearing the end of my second week post op. The first week I got crazy full with the trendiest bits of liquid however during the second week I pretty much feel back to myself. I can definitely feel when I am nearing full but I am not getting that crazy full feeling I got in the first. Is this normal? Also I lost 8 kg within the first week but only 1kg in the second. I knew weight loss would slow however is it normal for it to slow so soon? Thanks in advance!

As far as loss speeds... do yourself a favor and stop worrying about this now. No one loses at the same rate, so being worried about speed of loss or comparing yourself to someone else is just daft. Worry about what you can control, and that's your intake, exercise, and how well you are following your doctors orders. 3 chrnnurse, Orchids&Dragons and sodoe reacted to this
GastricGirl 11 Posted September 12, 2018 Hey Sodoe, I felt the same immediately post op, where your stomach is swollen from surgery and also used to the smaller quantities from the pre-op diet, liquids can be filling at first. Did your surgeon put any Fluid in the band during surgery? My surgeon didn't and a lot don't - so having the band alone can literally do nothing in regards to restriction after healing. It is completely normal to feel like this and have no weight loss in the beginning as it takes a while to get you to that "sweet spot" where you have the perfect amount of fluid in the band, and everyone is completely different. I had my first fill 2 weeks ago (2ml) and felt no restriction, so no weight loss. I went back yesterday for another fill so I am now on 4mls, and I still feel like I have no restriction. It just takes time and lots of fills and you will get to where you want to be. Just sit tight, you'll get there. I know its frustrating because we just want to lose the weight, but it will come eventually! 2 1 Julie norton, sodoe and Heazza reacted to this
