GastricGirl 11 Posted September 8, 2018 Hi guys, I had my first band fill on 28th August and feel no restriction when eating and can eat the same portion size pretty much as before - however the past week or so randomly throughout the day I've had an on-off sore throat. I am pretty sure it is not acid related as I take PPIs for acid reflux that I suffered with for years before surgery. Anyone else had this issue? May be totally unrelated but its so annoying!! Hop_Scotch 1,632 Posted September 9, 2018 I don't have a band so probably not much help. Hopefully it isn't band related and you are feeling better now. Just in case, I assume you are getting plenty of fluids?
jonicorn 10 Posted October 4, 2018 I dont think it would be related. The fill is literally just an injection into the port to inflate the band slightly. As it was your first fill, I doubt it was enough to make any difference really as it can take 6-7 fills before you are at your 'sweet spot'. Your sore throat might be from the flu on its way maybe? not sure. 1 Julie norton reacted to this

It could still very well be acid reflux issues. I don't have acid reflux issues... and the band gave me grade 4 esophagitis, even though I never felt a thing. Did you talk to your surgeon about it yet?
