rebchief 52 Posted September 7, 2018 Headed to first home game of the year for my Ole Miss Rebels but feeling concerned about what I can eat from the concession stand during game. Or try to sneak in something? Thoughts? Or should I just skip all together? It would be a 6 hour drive for me one way. We have done it every year for many years but this is the first time post surgery. 1 sillykitty reacted to this
sillykitty 10,776 Posted September 7, 2018 Everyone is different, but I had an easy recovery. I took a 5 hr flight and then spent a week at a wine and dine work event. Then followed by the weekend visiting a friend, and laying by the pool. Then flying back home. Concession stand food, probably not so much. I'd just pack a Protein Shake or something. 2 MargoCL and rebchief reacted to this
Screwballski 540 Posted September 8, 2018 Take lots of Water for the ride. I don’t know your food plan but at your stage I had to switch to solids because of a family need that required a trip to the coast. I just began carrying Protein Bars with me and choosing lean Proteins and chewing them to purèe before swallowing. I had no trouble. By the time I returned home, there was no point in going backward again. i go to sporting events and luncheons/dinners with friends and family. Often I eat a Protein Bar on the way and have water while out. It’s no biggie. If I actually get hungry, I order a hot dog or burger or chicken or whatever meat I feel like having. (oh, horror). The bread and all but about 2 ozs of the meat goes immediately in the garbage or in a take out box for my kid. I slowly eat the what remains, taking the time to chew it to death and savor it. It’s not hard. Just be prepared in advance so you don’t have to make decisions on the fly. Thwart your worst impulses before they can sink you! Have fun!
