I had my surgery Thursday, November 1st and was back to work on Tuesday, the 6th. I also have a desk job and going back wasn't bad at all for me.

I had my surgery on a Friday and was back in class on the following Tuesday. I was pretty active (we stand while we practice us scanning and do a lot of bending and reaching) and was fine with three days of recovery.

My surgery is scheduled for Nov 19 (Monday) and I'm taking 2 weeks off and returning to work on Dec 3 (Monday).

I had planned on coming back to work on the 26th - but figured it wouldn't hurt to give myself an additional week ;)

I am a nurse, who works 12 hour shifts, primarily standing, or walking and very little sitting. I had surgery on Monday, and returned to work the following Tuesday (after 1 full week off work) and this was not a problem. Stamina wise, the first day I got a little tired and weak. But no problems 2 days later with 2 consecutive 12 hour work days.. Victoria52

I had surgery on a Friday and went back to work the next Tuesday. I could have gone back on Monday, but it was New Year's day.

I would have had no problem what so ever going back if it hadn't been a holiday. I have a desk job too.

Had the surgery on a Thursday 10/25, went back to work on the following Monday 11/5. Could have gone back a few days earlier but they gave me the time off so I took it.

Surgery a week ago (Thursday 11/8) and was back to work on Monday. Desk job. Recovery wise I was fine and able to work, however the Percocet made me kind of dizzy and thus it was tough to concentrate. I have since switched to Extra Strength liquid Tylenol, and that has made a big difference with my ability to focus.

I have a fast paced desk job and I was told to take off 2-3 weeks. I had my surgery on a Thursday (10/25) and went back to work about 2.5 wks later on Monday 11/12.

I'm still pretty sore and don't have lots of energy. I think by this friday I'll be back up to 100%. I stretch and walk around a lot.

I have a walk around a lot job..I had surgery 11/1 and took 2 weeks off just for vacation time, not knowing how long recovery would be. Took pain meds thru Sat am, felt really weak and tired until the following Weds. For me it took a week to feel up to getting dressed. After 1 week, no pain at all, not really sore either. I would say take a week just in case...

Doctor told me to take a week too. My office is ok with it. I have vacation the first week of March, a trip I already planned before the surgery. So I am taking January 22-28 off and then February 29-March 9.

I was going to try to get in earlier because of the planned vacation, but they are fine with taking the full week and will equip me with a laptop to work from home.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
