Danny06 8 Posted September 5, 2018 Had surgery 8.16 and now going into week 3 I’ve hit a stall, lost 18 lbs and haven’t lost anything! Does anyone know how long it will last , or what to do to get rid of the stall?!

AEdoesRnY 531 Posted September 5, 2018 My three week stall has lasted about 2.5 weeks so far, not breaking yet. This is from my NUT: Plateaus are common even after weight loss surgery and they often will happen at points where your body has wanted to stall in the past. In the first 6 months after surgery, they are usually 1-3 weeks in length. They can last even longer than that after 6 months post-op. Have faith that you are on track! Focus on how clothes are fitting and if you are losing inches more than pounds. Know that stress and poor sleep can also influence the scale in addition to diet and exercise. 5 1 RobertaMSN, chicagogirl74, Wanda247 and 3 others reacted to this

photogirl70 142 Posted September 5, 2018 Mine lasted 10 days. Then, I lost a 4 more lbs and had another stall that lasted 6 days. I've just stayed on my plan. It will happen so hang in there. 2 Bastian and GB in CA reacted to this
PinkFreud 15 Posted September 5, 2018 Stalls are the most frustrating part of this journey but also a necessary evil so our bodies can adjust. 18lbs is a major loss in this amount of time so try not to be too mad at your body, as it just worked really hard for you. These stalls are going to happen again and again and unfortunately there is no written rule as to how long or why, but take solace in the fact that if you are following your guidelines, your body will do remarkable things for you. Best of luck! 2 1 Bastian, Sweettoothless and HeyItsRene reacted to this

Does anyone know how long it will last , or what to do to get rid of the stall?! WOW, 18 lbs is a huge feat! Congrats. I had the same exact problem. I stalled out almost right after surgery. I lost a substantial amount during pre op and then lost for one week post op, before a 2 week long stall. Just focus on hitting all your goals. The sale will move. I promise you. And even if you don't lose one more pound this month, you've had tremendous success. 2 HeyItsRene and MargoCL reacted to this

cateckert 29 Posted November 19, 2018 I’m post op 3 weeks and the scale hasn’t moved. I’m trying so hard not to be discouraged. I’ve lost 20 pounds and then it just stoped! Stopped nothing for a week. 3 Bastian, HeyItsRene and Trix1017 reacted to this

Danny06 8 Posted November 21, 2018 (edited) You aren’t alone, just try to get your liquids in and your Protein . You’ll be okay . I stalled again recently but now I’m 3 months post op, and down 44 lbs . You will stall but don’t worry you will still lose ! Just stay positive Edited November 21, 2018 by Danny06 2 1 Bastian, Memaw1 and Hrsnjs reacted to this

I've got kidney stones and a uti so i need to just thank it for hanging in there for me instead of being upset by a stall. 1 Bastian reacted to this

Bastian 458 Posted September 4, 2019 Also stuck in a stall. VGS on 12th August Bypass on 20th August Lost 15kg=33lbs and the scale hasn't moved for about 4 or 5 days now Frustrating for us all because I think our poor brains are so wired to our past failures a stall can feel like we are failing again. Luckily we have all the long term members here who have 'been there done that' who can reassure us
