KayKels 5 Posted November 9, 2018 Hi all! Does anyone know if it is safe to take Zyrtec crushed in Water? I’m headed to a friends tomorrow who has several cats that I’m allergic to but love.
Bmanns01 91 Posted November 9, 2018 Quick question for the masses. My surgery was on ,10/29 and for the most part things are going ok. But of my five incisions, four look great and have no pain whatsoever. My concern is my fifth incision. It's the larger one on my lower right side used for the liver retractor device. It still hurts...a lot. Sharp pains when sitting or standing and especially when walking. My surgeon looked at it Wednesday and said it is fine because the bruising is almost gone, no swelling, no seepage, no redness and it's not warm to the touch. It's just VERY tender. I wouldn't be so concerned if I was still having any sort of pain or discomfort with the other incisions but because this is the only pain I am experiencing and it doesn't seem to be improving I am concerned. Only a doc will know for sure but in my experience, I had pain and soreness for a while. Keep a look out for a fever and red streaking around the incision. I had my surgery the same day as you. My larger incision still hurt as well. I spoke with my surgeon Tuesday, he said that incision still hurt because it has deep stitches. Mine hurt when I lay on it or if I use my stomach muscles to sit up. Sometimes it will have a little throbbing pain but it not so bad. I'll wait a little longer for it to heal Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 1 laughinglaurie1@yahoo.com and Bmanns01 reacted to this

My doctor let me have pills right away (Prilosec and Actigal), and since Zyrtec comes in very small pills, I would just take it like normal. Or if you're super worried about a pill, Claritin comes in a dissolve-in-your-mouth form, and that's what I've been using. 1 KayKels reacted to this
mamadownsizing 15 Posted November 9, 2018 I have a 5th incision where a drain was placed (my surgeon's choice with sleeves) and it is healed but still tender and has days where even bending hurts. The rest are fine. I think it's just a lot of healing going on. I'm doubting myself this week... weight loss has really slowed 5 weeks out and I'm scared of it not working. I am eating the right amounts, Protein, etc... just this irrational fear that it's stopped working somehow. 1 Hrsnjs reacted to this

Just know it will work if you stick to your approved foods, get your Protein and Water. Apparently these little stalls and plateaus are normal and we need to chill. If you look at some of the vets info they've posted, they've all had months where they only lost 3,4,5 pounds in a month. It's the adding up over time that really makes a difference. Kathy10/22 6 Posted November 10, 2018 Hello All. Just wondering if what I'm currently feeling is normal. 15 days out, and for the past few days everything I eat just makes me feel nauseated. I'm getting in my Protein and fluids (fairly religiously), and as of Wednesday this week I've been adding in more foods and crackers/toast. But, I'm just not excited about food. Something sounds good, but as soon as I eat it I just feel completely turned off and can barely finish anything except fluids. Normal?? Anyone else? Thanks for listening. willowfinely 14 Posted November 10, 2018 I was told no crackers/toast. I’m 4 weeks out and am just now doing soft fish, tuna mostly. And my Protein Shakes. I can’t tolerate anything other than that. 1 Chrissy C reacted to this

CrankyMagpie 509 Posted November 10, 2018 @Kathy10/22 My surgery was 3 weeks before yours, and I don't think my team allows toast or crackers for me, yet. At two weeks, I was supposed to be eating soft foods. In rough order of "difficulty," my team's list went about like this: yogurt, ricotta, cottage cheese, refried Beans, soft-cooked eggs, tuna in Water (which I've only ever tried as a tuna salad with Greek yogurt), baked fish that "flakes" (still haven't tried that), thin-sliced deli meat, chicken cooked in a crock pot, ground turkey, other ground meat, and Soups and chilis that haven't been blended. I don't remember if they explicitly listed hummus, but that's only a little bit more of a challenge than refried beans. Veggies that were really, really well cooked are also OK (no broccoli or cauliflower stems, but the tops are OK), as are canned fruits (in juice, not syrup), but getting in all of my Protein with my allowed three meals is so hard, still, that I haven't had a lot of fruit or vegetables. I've managed all that, and I also do fine with chicken satay, hamburgers (no bread or veggies, just the patty), meatballs, and string cheese... but I only tried those things after I worked through the list my team gave me. I think they may clear me to move carefully into non-soft foods at my appointment this upcoming week. I very much want crackers, but I'm nervous about trying them. Maybe with something very soft on top. 1 Chrissy C reacted to this

I guess you just always compare, and lots seem to be having huge drops at this stage. Will do my best to be patient. 1 Hrsnjs reacted to this
