sandebch 3 Posted October 9, 2018 Had my gastric sleeve on 3 Oct. still a little sore. And finding that if the sip is too big it hurts a lot. Coughing and breathing are still a little painful. Lost 8 lbs in the last 5 days though. 3 jhojho90, Suesloosinit and Yare_2018 reacted to this

I had the sleeve and a surprise gallbladder issue. I cant stand broth as it is like dish Water to me, I think I like strong flavors so I took one sip and threw the whole box. I get the Progresso chicken noodle/beef Soups as they are flavored broth with veggies and chicken in, I strained the bits and just had the broth part...very nice compared to just an old broth box. Check out the ingredients list, it should say beef/chicken broth on and they are good to go. Im having Pea and Ham Soup today, thats going to be a tad thick but I will water it down with some Protein Powder and a tad of water.

It’s hard to explain but I keep getting these weird squeezing sensations and bubbly feeling immediately after sipping pretty much anything except a Protein Shake. I just dipped in some homemade pea Soup and I felt like I had a rubber tube trying to escape out of my chest. Been having it since my surgery off and on. Just wondering when/if it will go away. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

Had surgery the 2nd and the tightening is calming down. It was the worst with water.. like you Protein Shakes have been the easiest thing. This morning I had Greek yogurt thinned with milk in the blender. It was a bit foamy and that was not going to work.. I took about 4 sips and knew I had to stop bc it felt like it was going to come up but never did. Just had 1/2 c homemade potato Soup thinned and that was completely fine. So good! 1 tmrtyty2018 reacted to this

Are you taking a PPI? I went through this the first couple of weeks and found I had to readjust the times of my PPI (Prilosec) and then later ask if it was OK to take twice a day. Once I did this it helped. Additionally, it could be the temperature or texture of your liquids. I am 7-weeks post op and still have to adjust the temperature of my Water almost daily. Some days my pouch prefers cold, others hot, and some days it wants it loaded with ice. It's all trial and error. Ironically, I had the same issue as you yesterday with pea Soup, I ended up taking a prilosec to help... it worked like a miracle. But yes, overall it will diminish, it may or may not go away all together. I can tell you mine has definitely gotten better.

It doesn’t matter the temp of the food or time of day. It happens if u sip Water in the middle of the It’s causing me not to want to drink anything so I know I’m nearing dehydration.
