Recommended Videos to Keep Your Mind Off Food

Just saw it this weekend: Deadpool 2. Absolutely laugh out loud funny if you're into that kind of movie. (We are.) One of the few sequels as good as the first movie. And yes, they are comic-book characters, but this is NOT a family-friendly film! Do not watch with your 7 year-old.

Absolutely nothing in the film to trigger food cravings!

Had not been to the theater in quite some time. Last Tuesday my wife wanted to go see a horror film (she has a thing for them, almost an addiction). I hate them but figured, why not. We went to the Dine In theater because there was some kind of deal/discount that night. My wife ordered food and everyone surrounding us was eating. I was completely fine with my focus, during almost the entire movie, on Bubble Witch Saga on my phone. It was excellent, the movie was SOOOOOOOO bad and boring I let my phone distract me from everything, including the food.

Slender Man if you were wondering.

One of my boys went to ComiCon dressed as Slender Man. Was a major pain to pee wearing a full body suit under a suit! He got some great pics, though!

I just went I see Searching staring John Cho and Debra Messing (unexpectedly great movie) with my sister as an early birthday celebration for her. She had froyo and I had iced coffee, I don't think there were any eating scenes in the movie. She and I both commented on how absolutely intoxicating the popcorn smelled, neither one of us was hungry, which further convinces me they are adding addictive chemicals to the mix...

Yeah, and I was being really loud yelling during the whole thing.

It was an eat in theater so it wasn't nearly as dark as normal theaters. The lighting there to make it able for you to eat out shined the light from my phone 10 fold.

I read the book, hated it. Nothing blew up. Yeah, I'm shallow. I know ;) and I need constant, over-the-top entertainment. No chick-flicks for me.

Baywatch - on Amazon Prime. Zac Efron is a nice distraction from food. :) And surprisingly I actually thought it was a pretty good movie overall.

Thanks for that. I was sweating there for a minute. Felt like I was back in the theater getting yelled at and about to get my ass kicked. ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
