I am also glad I have learned that I can get back on plan when I go off track. That is something new. In the past once I went off the rails, I just threw in the towel.

Not much to report here. Have done IF when possible. Had 2 Breakfast meetings this week, so not those days. My food choices have been both good and bad. I'm counting the small victories like not eating the Andes mints that were left on my pillow. :P

The scale is holding steady at 153.2, the same as Tuesday morning, my last weigh in. It's .5 lbs up from my low of 152.6.

I don't think IF alone works for me as a weight loss tool. Maybe because I had inadvertently done IF for a lot of my life? I've never been a Breakfast eater, so I naturally have a long fast. Unless I have reasons to eat in the morning, like brunch plans or meetings, etc..

I have some dinner plans this weekend. Nothing to prevent me from doing IF. Making good choices is the much bigger struggle.

Next few weeks are going to be a b*tch! Solid travel, even gone one weekend, with only an overnight home to repack. Lots of meetings, meals, wining and dining. Weekend with a girlfriend and Mai Tai's. There will be a trade show with every type of junk food imaginable. Then straight into my gelato, Pasta & wine vacay.

I'd really, really like to start dropping weight again. Although my choice haven't all been good, my cals have been well under 1000 (yay restiction). So I'm hoping this is a stall ... but still scared if it's not.

My policy would be to go super strict until you see the Trevi fountain and only eat gelato while walking 😂😂😂😂

Here as well ....

It will take a few days for any good or bad behavior to reflect on the scale.

Maybe that's my stall explanation. Have not had any streak of consistently good or bad. Been a total mixed bag. (Well except the fact my cals have been consistently in the deficit range, arrgh)

I agree that IF alone doesn't make me "eat less" or make me "make better choices." But, what it does do is makes it easier to limit my daily intake. Since I can eat so much, that's especially important. I still can't eat as much as I could pre-surg--but still...I can do calorie damage if I put my mind to it, with relative ease. And you are placed in that position almost daily! GOSH!! ((hugs))

I think IF may also have some hidden, behind the scenes benefits with hormone regulation that helps us process the foods we do eat. My numbers are showing this...I will post those at the end of the month. So maybe, the IF, along with your making "thinking" smart choices as often as possible, will do what it needs to do and allow you to keep losing weight? I think of IF as kinda "doing the job" that most natural skinny people do for themselves without thinking. Like if I know I'm gonna have a huge dinner of calories and wine, I would be abstemious the rest of the day so the cals balance out. Instead of like I used to do where my rationale would be..."Oh I'm having an ass-buster meal tonight, the day is tanked, might as well go have a huge brekky and pound a Big Mac and fries at lunch since I'm splurging today." So the insult would be compounded by 3. :)

I agree the long term benefits of IF pique my interests my more than the immediate weight loss aspect. I keep hearing about longevity, idk about everyone else but I plan to live forever in Amazing condition lol, it's why I'm so careful with my diet. Also, the fat adaptation possibility is of particular interest to me. If I stayed at this weight but my muscles increased and fat decreased I would be thrilled. So those are my new goals. It's more about maintenance 10+ years vs a weight goal come November. Im going to have to behave like a naturally thin person and start working on decreasing body fat... The hard way lol

:lol::lol: Exciting and fun :lol::lol: .... right now I'd describe it as stressful and overwhelming :unsure:

I think it may, but if so it is a benefit I have long had, being breakfast averse. So just being stricter about it doesn't seem to be doing anything for weight loss, for me. It can help me control the total cals consumed though.

Same here. I feel like I have gotten past that thought process. I can mix and match "good" and "bad" behavior in the same day, week, etc.

I can totally do the gelato only while walking rule, easy, peasy!

Super strict pre vacay, ugh, not possible with my current schedule. :(

My family is incredibly long lived. This is kind of deep and heavy, but I have learned I definitely don't want to live forever, or even as long as some family members have. :unsure:

I have always been absolutely positive that I would die in a car crash, so never really considered long-term longevity. I just plan to be an easier-to-remove-from-crushed-vehicle corpse :D If I end up dying from something else, I will be truly and completely dumbfounded. This tends to make me relatively fearless in dangerous situations. (I do worry about situations where I could be HURT, but not killed. Odd, huh?)

Within your cal limits I meant , then Euro cals don't count lol everyone knows they're worth more compared to US cals lol

So had to go to the Dr and weight is still 163... This is a major win

A. I'm still on my cycle

B. I feasted this week

C. This is what I was prior to Dry Fasting (158lbs in retrospect was a dehydration weight, I'm hydrated AF now)

D. It's going down

E. I like bullet points on lists lol

F. Have a great weekend everyone! (Enjoy life, weight isn't everything)

Had a pretty cool NSV yesterday. Walked up 8 flights of stairs in a Federal Hospital, so like... more than 8 actual flights of stairs. Did it in 1 shot, no issues and my HR was only 121 when I got to the top... LIKE A BOSS

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
