Ok, go! What does Rooibos taste like and what is it supposed to do? :)

It's been too long to remember. I'll make some tonight and get back to you 😁

Like a soft cross between a mild black tea with slightly fruity peppery spicey notes and chamomile.

Dang. I was so excited about it and the benefits of it...especially to skin. Then I got to the "estrogenic effects" part which totally fucks me for hormone positive bc. Because of the AI I'm on, I have to keep the load down.

OK, this is heavy heavy stuff about doing the headwork. This guy, Dr. Cywes, is a bariatric surgeon and he has a pretty unique approach to nutrition and reward systems.

I swear a big piece of the puzzle fell into place for me today. It's well worth the investment of time!

Holding steady at 157 during Hell Week y'all

This may be maintenance !

WTG girlie! Do you gain an average amount each month? I remember I could gain 3-8lbs in a month with it! Then I would lose it afterward :( Plays with your head for sure!! Way to contain it! What's your secret? What did you do differently?

Yes i think im really somewhere between 154-157 and this is the bouncing around. No clue anymore... I did go all the way down to 150 at one point last month and did not like it one bit. I need it artificially done. Sucked out of specific places 😂😂😂

So I've decided if I lose anymore it cant come so quickly or from my face or twins...

Meanwhile, somewhere down the track on the crazy train (Ozzy's here...he wants sex...)

I'm enjoying an autophatea of my own making: Matcha + powdered ginger (need a fresh finger) + ground turmeric

:)

Really interesting talk as I sit here with a glass of wine! 😂

I do take exception to his comment that no mammals are built to live off carbohydrates. Ok, yes, there is some nutritional value in grass, fruit, et al, but cows (not on feedlots) and horses only eat plants, which are carbohydrates. C'mon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
