My urine has been dark and I know it is because I am not drinking enough Water. I am starting to put a little bit of Gatorade in my water in order to be able to drink more water. Has anybody else dealt with this issue? I certainly do not want my kidneys to fail.

Low water/fluid intake is likely the culprit, try increasing your water/fluid intake and see if the color changes (should change quickly, couple hours couple servings) if not contact your physician.

Ditto on the Water taste! I’ve been drinking Powerade zeros and iced teas (decaf homemade)

Have you tried the mio with Water? G2? Gotta drink. If not you’ll have some issues. Headache, lethargy, etc...to begin with

Try hint Water. There is no sugar or sweet taste but it has just enough of a hint of fruit flavor afterwards. Its amazing. So far ive had the watermelon, blackberry, strawberry kiwi and pineapple. The pineapple was my least favorite but none were bad. Good luck!

I do Mio and Water. Also coworker who had rny turned me onto peach tea crystal light mixed with Syntrax lemon tea Protein Powder. Yum!! Also even if you do Soups etc that still counts towards your liquids

Are vitiamins contributing to the dark colour?

No I am not taking Vitamins right now. I ordered some from Amazon and they will arrive at the end of the week. There are days when I dont drink hardly any liquids.

Drink more. You’re putting yourself at risk by dehydration. Buy some sugar free juice to mix in if it gets your liquids in.

what i am doing is mixing Water with regular Gatorade. I bought a lot of Gatorade so I will use it for my Water. Thank you everyone for your responses.

Since you are struggling with weight loss, you really shouldn't be having liquid calories. There are so many no calorie options out there ....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
