AmberlyM 3 Posted August 29, 2018 I just finished my surgery this morning which was at 7am, it's now 8pm. It hurts when I breathe, when I drink, when I swallow. Please tell me this goes away soon!Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Auroragirl4489 reacted to this
PaulaB72 49 Posted August 29, 2018 It will go away. We all have suffered through the “buyers remorse” phase. Give it another day or two. It’ll settle down. 😊 1 kaleeshab reacted to this

Russ D 115 Posted August 29, 2018 The breathing pain is from all of the gas they've got pumped into you. The gas is still in there, largely, putting pressure on your diaphragm and making it more difficult for your lungs to inflate fully. Keep up on the breathing exercises (hopefully they've shown you some). Walk as much as you're able. You'll get it. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
J San 1,071 Posted August 29, 2018 You'll be ok in a day or two. Let the nurses know your in pain. Maybe they need to adjust your pain meds. Good luck to you and a speedy recovery. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

They both help to not only get the gas out, but to increase blood flow to increase healing times! It gets better. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
GastricGirl 11 Posted August 29, 2018 (edited) I feel you!! I had surgery in July. I felt horrific after surgery, my mouth was dry my throat hurt and every time I swallowed I had a pain going all down my oesophagus into my chest. I think it lasted about 3 days (did get better every day), but with lots of rest and keeping hydrated it got better! You will be feeling better by the weekend I promise! xox Edited August 29, 2018 by GastricGirl 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
