Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted August 26, 2018 You're better off focusing on things you can control. Like a goal to stay totally on plan for 6 weeks. You may very well lose 20 or more pounds the first six weeks. But it's also possible to be completely perfect on your plan and to lose less. Focus on healthy decisions, not numbers, imho. Good luck, and I hope you lose 25! 1 CrankyMagpie reacted to this
CrankyMagpie 509 Posted August 26, 2018 How much you lose is dependent partially upon what you do--how well you stick to the plan, how much exercise you get--and partially upon your starting weight. (The rest is effectively random, because bodies are complicated.) My team says it's reasonable to expect to lose 30% of your excess weight (weight on day of surgery minus ideal weight) in the first 3 months. 6 weeks is half that. So if your excess weight is at least 130 pounds, yeah, that's a super reasonable goal! If you have less than 100 pounds to lose, it is probably a less reasonable goal. And I don't know about you, but focusing entirely on the scale is a recipe to make me crazy. I need to focus on the things I can control--what I eat, what I drink, what exercise I do--instead of my weight, which isn't entirely up to me. 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
J San 1,071 Posted August 26, 2018 That seams like a doable goal as long as you stick to your plan. Don't cheat at all and you should get there no problem.
