Will I ever get to goal?

Recommended Posts

Babs - as a fairly new bandster (4.5 weeks postop) I am watching my RNY sister (she had her surgery 1 day before me) lose weight at twice the rate I am .. and then I see that you have lost 148 pounds!!! .. tongue.gif ... you give me hope that this band thing will work .. not as fast as the RNY, but I can take off the 95lbs I still have to lose.

Congratulations!

Babs,

You are absolutely beautiful. Those extra pounds are nothing compared to what you have already accomplished. I hope to be like you one day. Stay focused and when you least think about it those other pounds will just melt away. Good luck.

Babs,

I completely understand. I have only 20 or so to go and I find myself sabotaging myself. Like you with the tortilla chips, for me it will me popcorn and my newest favorite -- Cheetos. What is wrong with me. Why did buy them and bring them home. Why did I just go do an hour of pilates, come home, make an alcoholic beverage for myself and eat Cheetos. I haven't gained but no wonder I'm not losing. I'm finding myself going back to my comfort foods and I don't like myself. Breakfast and lunch is not a problem at all. Usually yogurt for BF and egg/tuna/chicken salad at lunch. I'm getting in even Protein. But why am I sabotaging myself at dinner?

I know why. I don't want to make dinner and why just for me because hubby is at a meeting, or ate all the leftovers before I got home. My son works evenings so it isn't like I need to cook for him. So, I make a drink, plop at the counter and eat cheetos and read the newspaper. And I DO have quick easy frozen meals or other good stuff at home. If we go out to dinner I'm OK, but don't leave me at home alone.

Maybe if you and I become accountable for each other, we can both reach our goals. I'm game if you are. Evening check each day over the phone or whatever. I need someone to keep me in check. Maybe Michelle (even though she is still losing) and Vera can join us too and we are all so close to goal.

You've done wonderful and there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!

Hi Carol,

My big weakness is tortilla chips. I cant go a whole day without eating 8-10 of those ! I so wish I could say no, but just like you, the evenings are when I violate. I can go all day and not eat (but dont) and then bam, the floodgates are open at 5:30 pm or so. I do fine with my dinner portion, but find myself grazing. popcorn, pudding, crackers with Peanut Butter. I really try to watch the portions but can't seem to just say no!

I am back up two pounds from my low and I notice lately even one indiscretion sets me back 4-5 days. Ugggggh!

I agree 100% with Penni. I think our bods know how much they want to weigh.

My mother was super slender till she retired. If you think it's hard having a skinny sister, try being fat with a thin mother - torture. But she recently admitted to me that she was practically anorexic to keep herself looking that way. She admitted she was sick all the time. She had constant hunger pains, dizzy spells, black outs, missed periods. She wasn't skinny, just slender. Now she's a Vegan, her only pigouts are from whole grains and veggies, yet she weighs 200 pounds at 5'10".

I am stuck right around 250 now, but like Penni, I can climb steps and walk fast without dying.

I can lose more weight, but I feel too hungry and deprived. I hoped that a fill would keep me from getting hungry, but so far, no luck.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
