Sadie24304 32 Posted August 16, 2018 Good Afternoon, I am having a hard time with this liquid stage and need some help. Tomorrow marks 2 weeks that I have had my gastric sleeve surgery. I purchased some items from the Bariatric Pal Store and IDK what I am doing wrong. Apple Cinnamon oatmeal - it says to put it in the microwave for 3 mins. After 1 minute it is oozing out the microwave. strawberry banana smoothie - shook it for 30 minutes and still too many clumps. What am I doing wrong?
SummerDream 97 Posted August 16, 2018 I never tried those products but for the smoothies, I find sometimes having that mixing ball in the shaker helps get rid of clumps. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,446 Posted August 16, 2018 Never tried BP store oatmeal but any microwave oatmeal needs to be stopped part ways through stirred, assessed, rest , etc. Smoothies... Blender all the way 1 1 Orchids&Dragons and Frustr8 reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted August 16, 2018 @Sadie24304 did you feel like the Bariatric Pal was coming to get you? 😛From a distance it sounds hilarious but having to clean it up, you weren't giggling too much, were you? There you are , hungry to the point of hangry and the microwave and oatmeal are conspiring against you! This is the kind of thing that will happen to me too. 1 BurBur reacted to this
Sadie24304 32 Posted August 16, 2018 @GreenTealael The blender made it so foamy. I could get past two sips. I need to buy some premade smoothies fast. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

AEdoesRnY 531 Posted August 16, 2018 A Blender Bottle with the metal ball in it works well for the powders I find! Sometimes I have to let it sit for a few minutes to let the foam calm down! 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
CrankyMagpie 509 Posted August 16, 2018 I use WonderSlim or ProtiDiet oatmeals (if the brand is important to you, I'm happy to double check -- I get them from Diet Direct, and they sell a whole variety of brands), and I've had a lot more luck with heating the Water up, then adding it into the oatmeal and mixing it up than trying to microwave a mixed up bowl of oatmeal + water. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted August 17, 2018 Now that makes sense because that's how I nuke my tea!
BurBur 113 Posted August 17, 2018 The microwave and oatmeal HATE each other. I've done this too! Oats every where but in the container I put them in. I do over-night oats now. Basically you add the liquid to it the night before. I use little canning jars with lids. Next morning they are perfect! Just google recipes for over-night oats. Don't know the products from this site at all. But you can just get rolled oats and add Premier Protein (vanilla) for the liquid and there yat go, Protein and energy in one little cup. 1 AEdoesRnY reacted to this

What am I doing wrong? Why dont you use a blender. You are shaking it for 30 minutes?? That is hard to believe.
Screwballski 540 Posted August 17, 2018 If you are on liquid phase, after you cook or overnight the oats, you still need to thin them substantially. 😉
AASosa 56 Posted August 18, 2018 Boil Water first then mix with oatmeal and wait for consistency of your choice. Best way to do it don’t microwave it cause it sucks lol. Stay strong your almost there...
