Hi everyone,

I had my surgery in October 2017 and i'm 9 months post op. I'm stuck on a plateau for around 2 months now. Can't seem to lose anymore weight. What should i do?

Starting weight 160 kg and for the past 2 months 116 kg.

Please advise.

I suggest giving intermittent fasting a try

But first

What's your diet like these days?

I did hit a 3 week stall after losing 130 some pounds but two months seems like a long time.

Do you track your intake? Exercise?

It is hard to “advise” you when we don’t know what your current program is.

Hi Jabba,

I had my wls October 10 2017. I was at a stall as well.

I decided to go back to Keto and intermittent fasting. Gosh! I am longer at a stall! 10 pound loss in 2 weeks! My Sister is doing as well. ( she is almost at 4 year post wls) My Sis is losing quite well too!

I'm not saying this WOE is for everyone, however it is working well for us atm.

Good luck on your continuing journey.

Di

Hi guys.

Just an update. I' back on track.

I'm at 97 kg now. I am muslim so i fasted through the month ramadan (6 may - 3 june). It did wonders for me.

Lost a total of 10 kg in that month. Still 12 kg to go. I think within 6 - 8 months it should be possible for me. Also the Keto diet helped me alot. I advise this to everyone who is stuck on a plateau.

Thanks for the reactions.

Bye

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
