Hey everyone
Well I have done it. I took the leap of faith and now I’m on the other side.
I got home this afternoon after 1 day stay. Lots of burping and passing gas. I’m so full for tea spoons of puréed chicken in broth , my stomach did feel sore because of it. Sipping Water through the day and trying to walk.
And also my focusing on my breathing and making sure I temperature myself.

I was so scared before the surgery and so nervous , and now I’m at home trying to get through the first few days and slowly adjusting to this new life.

Also I had a different name on here , few people managed to find me that I didn’t want for them to found out so I changed it.

Anyway I’m trying to focus on the things, it took me about 1,5 years to get here so it’s a long time coming.

Thank you for reading and hopefully I will hear from you guys xoxo

Same for me. I spent 1 day in the hospital and my surgery was Monday 8/13. I'm trying to at least get in 20 oz today. Truely I starving but scared to even try and cheat on this 2 week liquid diet...lop

Congratulations with your surgery. I hope we will get through this without any negative side effects. Lol I get you with the hunger part, I had it today as well, but after a few tea spoons of the chicken I had, I was done and I’m still full. It has been 2 hours by now. I won’t be eating anything else today. Otherwise it’s just to much. Sipping Water and other sugar free drinks.
We can do it 🙏🏻🙏🏻😆

Well the chicken was boiled in broth Water and then puréed until semi liquid, I had a few baby spoons so to say and I waited and then a few other baby spoons and then I was full. My stomach had to work real hard, lots of burping and gas. I felt some pain too so I walked and walked through my room. And even sitting down for a bit until I get comfortable again.

Sometimes they keep VSG on liquids longer because of the long staple line they have to heal up. Wouldn't want YOU,to bust a gusset after all that surgery. That would be a VERY VERY BAD scene.

I noticed that hospitals have different rules and regulations across the board, I had it very diluted tho. So I wouldn’t say it was Clear Liquids but also not puréed. I’m allowed to have unsweetened custard and yogurt and mushed up fruits too.

I wouldn't be able to eat any of that two days post op. food or pureed anything, no thanks. I can barely take tiny sips of Water.

I can imagine! The day of surgery was particular hard as I couldn’t stop gagging and I was on the IV. But I’m at day 2 post op and I almost finished 2 liters of Water. And the eating part is hard but slowly getting better. I hope you’re doing okay, we can do this !! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
